London Fashion Week

The long awaited London Fashion Week 2010 has come to an end and everyone is talking about their new favorite styles and looks for the upcoming seasons!

Here at Mytights.com we are excited to discuss the numerous designers that not only requested our tights, but made use of them on the runway! Ranging from designers such as PPQ, Richard Nicoll and Jenny Packham we definitely made our mark on fashion week this year! And we even got to take a peak at the Autumn/Winter collection of Henry Holland tights at his London Fashion Week launch party!

Richard Nicoll: Black hosiery

An established and respectable designer, Richard Nicoll again wooed the crowd with his sleek urban collection. Not only was his wardrobe chic, but a portion of it featured our black Aristoc Ultra Shine Tights! These 10 Denier tights are Aristoc’s best selling line, creating an ultra shine and comfortable feel perfect for everyday, or for a night on the town, much like Nicoll depicted!

It wasnt only Richard Nicoll who wanted black tights – black opaques were seriosuly popular this year, and the thicker the better! With requests for Falke’s Pure Matt 100 (a MyTights favourite) from the likes of Sophia Bentley and Gareth Pugh (Paris Fashion Week). Blackhold ups were all the rage too, with requests from PPQ and Pam Hogg, including those pictured (right).

Osman: Pastel Opaques

Spotted on the Osman runway were our Jonathan Aston Funky 40 Denier Opaque Tights! Osman’s catwalk collection displayed a fusion of many cultures with a simple trendy look. He used our silver tights as the staple throughout his show, as well as the truffle shade. Whether you want Osman’s simple trendy look, or a wild vibrant appeal, Jonathan Aston Opaque Tights are available in a variety of colors and are clearly a necessity for the upcoming season!

Pastel shades were also requested by Ziad Ghanem, who again went for Jonathan Aston’s popular 40 Denier Opaque Tights, but this time in powder blue and white. Take a look at all our coloured tights for a variety of brands from Falke to Pamela Mann, and a rainbow of colours!

Jenny Packham: Lurex Tights

Jenny Packham’s runway styles were funky and fun with bright colors and sparkles. Our Pamela Mann Lurex Micronex Tightswere used to assist in this funky fresh image! These gorgeous tights have Lurex which allows them give off an extra shine! The models sported these tights in a variety of colours, each offering a different look. With the trend of sparkles taking over the fashion world, it is definitely a must to pick up a pair of these super chic shiny tights!

Requests for Lurex and sparkle on the catwalks also came in from Miss Molly, SARO and Ziad Ghanem, in the form of Aristoc’s Lurex Back Seam Tights and Crystalli Tights, as well as Pamela Mann’s Lurex Highball Tights. Here at MyTights we have a wide variety of sparkley tights!

PPQ, Michael van der Ham, Romino Karamanea, Peter Jensen and more…

Other appearances of our tights on the runway included our sleek Falke Seidenglatt Tights in the Michael van der Ham collection, lots of black hold ups on the PPQ catwalk, and our popular Pretty Polly 100 Denier Nylon Opaque Tights in the Romino Karamanea collection! We also had requests from Peter Jensen for Trasparenze’s Monique Ankle Socks and Pamela Mann’s Jive Seamed Tights.

Henry Holland

We are already incredibly excited for the Spring/Summer collection arriving in April, but on Tuesday night we got a glimpse of whats to come this Autumn/Winter at the Henry Holland for Pretty Polly launch party…and what a collection it is! With a range including adjustable mock suspenders and sparkly mock suspender tights, hold ups and socks there is sure to be something everyone wants, or needs for the Autumn season!

Stay Warm with Wooly Tights!

As the cold weather is refusing to budge, it seems stocking up on winter woolies and warming layers is even more necessary!

Before you protest that warm tights can only mean something akin to what your granny would wear, hear us out, because wool tights and ribbed hosiery have undergone some serious changes lately. In fact, they are now items that we would gladly wear on a night out, let alone out in the snow. They are no longer the itchy monstrosities that your mum used to send you to school in, but are instead must-have fashion items which will look fantastic with this season’s biker boots, as well as flirty dresses for a funky, folky feel.

So, what products should you buy? We have a huge range of wool and ribbed tights at MyTights.com from some of the biggest brands around, so here’s a quick run-through in order to help you choose…

Luxurious Wools

If it’s a high-quality style in classic black you’re after, you can’t go wrong with Aristoc’s Cashmere Blend Tights. These are incredibly soft and also available in popular red wine and navy. They make a good transition for girls who are used to wearing Lycra opaques.

For those who love luxury, we have to tell you about Falke’s Soft Merrino Wool Tights. Actually an affordable wool and cotton mix, they look so good they could be designer – we all have them in Anthracite and adore them in Wool White too.

If you’d rather opt for a coloured matte finish, we recommend ourTrasparenze Gennifer Merino Wool Tights, which are barely off our legs here in the office. Their rich colours look fab with tartan and could also be the perfect accessory to go with your Christmas Day outfit this year (don’t pretend you haven’t been thinking about that already!).

Fashion Wools

Moving on to the fashion-forward ribbed trend, Falke’s Elegance Cashmere Blend Tights are super-soft and have a great wintry feel to them. They could add interest to a plain wrap dress or black skirt, creating tantalising texture. Similar alternatives include the Trasparenze Dora Wool Rib Tights or Levante’s Wool Rib Tights (we’re loving these in Caramel). If you’re looking for a bargain try Pamela Mann’s ribbed tights, available in a selection of colours.

Back to Falke, we are smitten with their Soft Merrino Wool Ribbed Tights in Mosaik Blue. They are lightweight but super-thick, so you won’t feel those cold winds. Their colour is what made us fall for them though – wouldn’t they look amazing with a brown or black pinafore dress and a fitted coat?

Wooly Socks

And finally, if you want something a little different, why not try over the knee socks? Perfect for under boots! We especially recommend Trasparenze again here thanks to their Dora Wool Rib Socks style, which we can’t get enough of in Vinaccia (a wine-like burgundy).

And if you’re still too cold, check out Jonathan Asaton’s Legwarmers and layer them over your woolly tights for an extra cosy and, not to mention, outrageously on-trend look.

We hope you’ve been persuaded that wool and ribbed tights will keep you looking good as well as feeling warm in the snow – now all you’ve got to do is choose which ones to go for!

Surprise someone this Valentine’s Day!

Are you sick of doing the same old things every February 14th? Treat yourself or your partner to some sexy hosiery and break the mould for 2010! We’ve got stockings, suspender belts, hold ups and funky tights that are guaranteed to put a smile on both of your faces!

It’s no great shocker that men love sexy hosiery – according to the Sun’s agony aunt Deirdre, the favourite fantasy of one in ten guys is to see their partner dressed in stockings and suspender belts, so something sultry will knock him off his feet!

It can make you feel great too, so if you’re single and intend to go out on the pull on February 14th, some sexy hold ups will make you feel a million dollars. Or if you’re looking to stand out why not try some fun and fashionable heart print tights?

And guys, if you’ve stumbled upon this page, then read on in order to get clued up on exactly what to buy her this Valentine’s Day.

Seductive Stockings & Hold Ups

For a sexier alternative to tights, you can’t go wrong with stockings to pair with suspenders. We’ve got a wide range here at MyTights.com, including Levante’s Vanessa Stockings with their detailed leg band and Aristoc’s Sensuous 10d Lace Top Stockings, for a touch of hidden glamour.

A style that could also be perfect for Valentine’s is hold ups, as you won’t get lines from suspenders under your dress if you’re going out. We love Le Bourget Essential Hold Ups in Noir, which have a sexy black and red lace top for you to flash intermittently! or for a bit of luxury try Wolford’s Satin Touch Hold Ups.

Glamorous Lace & Sexy Seams

For some additional 1940s-style glamour, you could try a lace tights or an elegant back seam. Jonathan Aston’s Sweet Roses Hold Ups – also available in tights – have a delicate floral pattern, while Cette’s Berlin Sheer Seam & Heel Stockings are super-stylish and will really elongate your legs.

Elegant Fishnets

Of course, some classic fishnets look fab with eveningwear. Our Levante Fishnet Tights in Nero have an elegant small net and are sheer to the waist, perfect if you’re wearing a shortskirt. Other favourites in the MyTights office are Falke’s elegant fishnet tights and Jonathan Aston’s fishnet back seam hold ups!

Mock Hold Ups

However, if you’re not a fan of stockings or hold ups, you could always try a new phenomenon that’s sweeping the high street at the moment - mock hold ups. Try Pretty Polly’s Absolute Legs Mock hold ups (which look a bit like the original Henry Holland sell-outs!), or the new Super Suspenders from Henry Holland.

Classic Suspender Tights

If you dont want the hassle of suspender belts the try some Suspender Tights for all the allure of stockings without having to worry about them falling down. Charnos’ Boudoir Bodyfree Suspender Tights are essentially sheer tights with cut-out sections to resemble stockings and a suspender belt.

Something a bit fun

And finally, if you treat V-Day as a little bit of fun, then no problem.

Our Celeste Stein Be My Hearts tights are bright red with a cute white heart print that is sure to make you (and him) smile. Or for something a bit more elegant try Pamela Mann’s Sheer Hearts Tights, which are a kooky twist on classic polka dot tights, and very on-trend this season – so you can wear them again and again!

We also love Pamela Mann’s Love Seam Tights, with their blend of sex appeal, elegance and fun.

So there you go – check out our Valentine’s Day section, stock up on seductive hosiery and have fun this February 14th!
