The three-day weekend is upon us and as per usual the mention of those magic words ‘Bank Holiday’ have caused the weather to take a turn for the worse. But never fear: the MyTights team is here with plenty of style tips to see you through the weekend!

The only day we’re likely to see any sunshine, Saturday is prime for a morning’s retail therapy and a lazy afternoon spent in a beer garden with friends. Emilio Cavallini’s Polka Dot Spotty tights are a great way to jazz up a casual skirt or shorts and t-shirt ensemble, or if you can’t be tempted to part with your jeans try rolling up the hems to expose a little flash of colour courtesy of Trasparenze’s Monique Ankle Socks.

If you’ll be taking advantage of the extra day off by going out on Sunday night grab the chance to have fun with your legwear: after all, it’s a Bank Holiday, it’s not like every other night out! Try Pretty Polly Sparkle tights for a hit of glitzy glamour, or have a look at our amazing Bebaroque range: the unique embellished styles will definitely make a statement as you’re tearing up the dancefloor.

There’s no better excuse than a Bank Holiday Monday for getting the family together for a traditional roast, and if you go out on the Sunday night there’s no better hangover cure either! Whether you’re a culinary whizz and cook it up yourself or choose the stress-free pub lunch option, laid-back comfy style is key. Try Trasparenze’s Dorella Footless Leggings underneath loose layers – at 70 denier they’ll keep you cosy and with a range of neutral and bright colours to choose from they’re easy to pair with all your weekend favourites.

Whatever you end up doing, all of us here at MyTights wish you a happy Bank Holiday!

Lace tights have been on the fashion radar for a few seasons now, but the eagle-eyed hosiery hunters here at MyTights HQ have noticed a full-scale celebrity obsession developing. From uptown girl Olivia Palermo to rock royalty Pixie Geldof, everyone’s in on it, so if you haven’t investigated lace legwear yet, here’s how to work it into your look.

Our latest drop of Henry Holland tights for Pretty Polly includes this incredible Lace Bodysuit, but you don’t have to have a Lady Gaga moment to make it work for you – it makes a brilliant on-trend base layer under shorts, skirts and dresses. Although if you are taking cues from Lady Gaga, be sure to invest in some Spanx to preserve your modesty and give you a sleek silhouette! If you’re not sure the bodysuit is for you, we’ve also got Henry Holland’s Lace Panel tights. Henry’s added serious edge to classic black lace hosiery with solid black panels down the front of the legs – think Gossip Girl’s Taylor Momsen, the actress and budding rock star who plays rebel Jenny Humphrey, and grunge them up with lace-up boots and a thigh-grazing mini.

Taylor Momsen

At the other end of the Gossip Girl style spectrum ultra-polished Park Avenue princess Blair Waldorf, played by the gorgeous Leighton Meester, has been seen sporting a more demure take on the lace tights trend. Paired with a tailored coat and classic Mary-Jane heels, she takes the look from racy and rebellious to graceful and girly, and with these Pretty Polly Lace Tights, you can channel her Upper East Side style without breaking the bank. As Blair demonstrates, lace tights are a classic way to bring a touch of feminine charm to an otherwise prim ensemble, evoking the unmistakably French allure of iconic couture house Chanel – with a chic black pencil skirt and white blouse, lace tights will take you from desk to dinner date with elegance and ease.

Luckily, now that the weather is warming up, lace doesn’t have to be restricted to tights! Jonathan Aston’s Sweet Roses Anklets are just the thing for taking on another of spring’s big trends – socks with sandals. Unashamedly girly, these are perfect for daintily balancing out the chunky heels we’ve seen all over the catwalks. We think Alexa Chung, who was recently papped at Paris Fashion Week flashing her lace-top hold ups under her chunky coat, would wear these with her new favourite high-heeled clogs and denim shorts for a quirky off-duty look on sunny summer days.

So there you have it – whether you’re after rock chic, classic elegance or kooky cool, lace hosiery is the must-have item that you definitely need in your wardrobe!

With a massive improvement on the weather, it’s inevitable the topic of flip flops will rise at some point during the day! I agree with Fearne Cotton, who voiced on her Radio 1 show this morning, that it’s perhaps a little too early to be donning our noisy little friends. Although, (sorry Fearne) I did notice a very trendy individual on my lunch break earlier sporting a brilliantly bright pair with some footless tights! This young lady was clearly not suffering from a little thing I like to call SAD (Seasonal Adjustment Disorder). Good on you girl!

I suggest we all take a style tip from this young lady and make the transition from winter to spring; all it takes is one pair of footless tights! Here at MyTights there are lots to choose from, such as these Stripey Footless Tights in red, black or white from the Italian brand Emilio Cavallini – these make your legs look as though they go on for miles and will look great teamed with some denim cut offs and flats. If stripes aren’t your thing, then perhaps animal prints are; try Jonathan Aston’s Leopard Print Footless Tights, a great way to make a fashion statement and provide an outfit with interest.

Footless tights may stop at your ankle, but our list of them certainly doesn’t! There are loads more, such as Cette’s seductive Lace Footless Tights style and other additions from Emilio Cavallini in the way of suspenders and spots!

Like footless tights, leggings are also easy to wear and a spring wardrobe essential! Be trendy and fashion forward with the help of MyTights’ selection of leggings that continue to be popular with our customers – and the fascination with leggings continues to grow amongst celebrities, like Scarlet Johansson, Lindsay Lohan, Rhianna, Paris Hilton and Milla Jovovich!

Henry Holland House TightsHere at MyTights, we’re all feeling a little disappointed by the lack of sunny weather that spring is supposed to bring, which is why we’ve turned our attention to something that will guarantee to put the spring back in your step! His name is Henry Holland and he is one of the best things that have happened to Fashion this year!

With a renowned reputation for being edgy and quirky with his designs, it was a shock to learn of the British designer’s recent collaboration with the laid-back classic American cool of Levis Strauss jeans. But the partnership has proved a refreshing one; the range consists of eight unique denim styles, as well as black and flesh coloured striped T-shirts. Henry’s influence on the collection is palpable, as most pieces are accented with golden buckles and contrasting black denim straps with an exclusive purple House of Holland patch to complete all designs. If this wasn’t cool enough, Indie poster girl and NY club scene alum Leigh Lezark will be the face of the latest ad campaign.

Not only is the designer liaising with the top dogs over seas, but he has also launched his new collection H! By Henry Holland at Debenhams. Gal pal and muse to the designer Pixie Geldof is the face of the new collection and she’s featured in all of the campaigns.

If you’re fashion savvy and want a piece of the action, I suggest you turn to MyTights where in only a matter of days the pioneering designs of Henry Holland’s Spring/Summer collection will be available! Tights which carry Henry’s famous prints will be bursting onto MyTights’ screens, so be sure to have your mouse at the ready before they sell out like the last collection!

And as if the new collection wasn’t enough, the sell-out Super Suspender Tights will be back too! An endless list of celebs, such as Frankie from the Saturdays, Agyness Deyn, Pixie Geldof, Alexa Chung and Miquita Oliva have all been pictured wearing Henry Holland’s super suspender tights, an item that has become as much iconic of the designer as bumsters were of the late Alexander Mcqueen!

With spring well and truly in full swing, you may be feeling the urge to dress accordingly and show some flesh! But if you’re feeling dubious about re-acquainting those pins with the outside world, fear not! Hosiery trends adorned the catwalks of Spring/Summer 2010 shows; there were copious styles, textures and colours to choose from, so there is no pressure to tan, wax and tone for the summer just yet!

One of the most dominant of the hosiery trends to emerge were ‘peek-a-boo’ tights, which combined sheer and opaque textures along with holes and tear-like slashes. Perfect for easing your legs into skirts and dresses, whilst remaining somewhat covered up. Designers like Three as Four, Gaultier and Wunderkind showcased these styles and now fashion innovators and Celebrities are going crazy for them.

Try the look out yourself with Jonathan Aston’s Silhouette stripe tights available at and look teasingly good when revealing only a slither of flesh!

A great thing about these tights is that they make you feel confident in raising those hemlines, so wear with short shorts, miniskirts and playsuits. You can even glam them up on a night out with sexy red accessories and an LBD.

Although it tends to be warm weather that signals the birth of tribal patterns and boho prints, I couldn’t help but share with you the briiliance that is Tribal Punk. It’s fashion forward and funky, not to mention a fantastic way to update your look in an instant!

Before we spotlight what MyTights has in store, let us have a brief trend tutorial. It first emerged on the S/S runways of Roberto Cavalli and Mathew Williamson, two magicians when it comes to working with wild, yet wearable prints. We were all inspired and so were those celebs! With the likes of Kate Moss, Sienne Miller, Nicole Richie and new star Pixie Lott adopting the trend, it was inevitable that it was going to be a hit. With a tribal stamp on everything from jewlery to dresses, It’s fantastic news that the trend has became so popluar we want it all over our legs too!

This year for S/S the extravagant designer Vivienne Westwood has put together an eclectic collection, which involves assymetric lines and bold prints that juxtopose one another in attempt to capture the essence of this vibrant trend.

Try out this look yourself with Jonathan Aston’s Tribal Tulle Tights, available in black and purple (pictured). Though this trend will appeal more to the sort of girl who isn’t afraid to make a bold, sophisticated and diverse statement, a different take on the vibe can be achieved by just about anyone. See my style tips below to rework the trend to suit your style!

· Simply let the tights do the talking and keep the rest of your outfit simple.

· Team with copious amounts of jewelry to look like a bohemian goddess.

· Wear with playsuits for a fresher, younger image or with long off the shoulder tees to look effortless (we all know it really takes hours to look this good sssh)!

· If you really want to embrace the trend wear fringed garments and clashing tribal prints on the top half of your body. This look will scream fashinista!

· As for your feet wear ankle cuffed sandals with strings that climb up your leg or cute little ankle boots in sandy earth tones.
