Street Style – May ’14

We’ve all been there, thinking: “wow I love those patterned tights! But what could I wear them with?” It’s a common conundrum, being surrounded by so much choice, so it always helps to have the assistance of certain style gurus on hand. These two looks will give you plenty of inspiration for your hosiery wardrobe.

The first of our lovely fashionistas is Gisela, while visiting New York, she took a stroll in her Pretty Polly & Patternity Bricking It Tights in 80/20 denier – what better way is there to stand out in this fashion forward city? To copy this look team these tights with denim shorts, a sleeveless NYC top, a scarlet satchel and ankle boots.

If you’re a huge fan of the Big Apple then why not also check out the New York Skyline Tights from Pamela Mann in 50/20 denier. These fashion tights put a fun twist on that mock suspender style by including motifs of famous New York landmarks on the tops.

Now take a look at the fabulous competition winner Jane Postlethwaite in her animal print tights and matching burgundy ensemble complete with gold shoes. Burgundy, gold and tan all compliment each other beautifully while the animal print tights go seamlessly with her patterned scarf for a matchy-matchy style. For a similar look, combine the Jonathan Aston Wild Tights in 20 denier along with a patterned oxblood red and metallic skirt, plain shirt and burgundy scarf. Alternatively go for the Trasparenze Adventure Tights in 100 denier with their chic panel design featuring half black opaques and half animal print for a flattering take on this fierce style.

We hope that you have found inspiration for new ensembles to go along with your patterned tights!

What MyTights Wore 23.05.14

Plenty of semi-opaque and opaque tights this week as the weather took a turn for the worse! If you’re looking to keep warm in the windy weather then here are some ideas for how to style those all-important ensembles.

Looking lovely in monochrome, Hannah styles her Calvin Klein Ultra Fit 30D High Waisted Tights with a black and white dress and black ballerina pumps.

Chantel+Emma Black Opaque Tights

Chantel and Emma both style their jumpers, red skirts and boots with opaque tights, Chantel opts for the Aristoc 80 Denier Microfibre Tights and Emma wears the Falke Pure Matt 50D Opaque Tights. A bright red skirt is best paired with black opaque tights so you can avoid colour clashes.

Wearing the Wolford Satin Opaque 50 Tights with a plaid skirt, white top and black leather boots, Laura nails office chic. To steal this style team a tartan kilt with knee high boots, a white silk blouse and luxury black opaque tights.

Love Team MyTights’ style?  Take a peek next week to discover even more ideas on how to style those tights.

What MyTights Wore 02.05.14

The advent of warmer weather means one thing in the MyTights office – sheer tights! Patterned or plain, sheer styles are perfect for the trans-seasonal weather.  Come rain or shine, they’ll always provide gorgeous coverage…

Laura teams her floral patterned sheer tights with a short red dress, black jacket and black knee high boots. Floral tights add a touch of elegance to your outfit and they’re office-friendly to boot!

Style your polka dot tights with a knee length skirt, camel scarf, flat shoes and long-sleeved top à la Nix for classic yet sublime style.

Not a sun worshipper? You can still give your legs a healthy tan in sheer tights than a one shade darker than your natural skin tone. Wearing a pencil skirt, ballerina pumps and red silk top Emma rocks those sheer tights.

What MyTights Wore – 17.04.14

We’re all excited about the upcoming Easter weekend. In the run-up to the holiday, we’ve been enjoying lots of different types of hosiery this week as well as socks!

Nude fishnet tights provide a subtle yet fun look that’s suitable for every office. Laura styles her pair with a tweed jacket, jade green polo neck and matching leaf green skirt.

Nix’s Jonathan Aston Iris socks match perfectly with her turquoise and white ensemble. These fashion forward socks feature two important SS14 trends: glitter and pastel pink.

Emma breaks up a navy and light grey office outfit with the addition of blue opaque tights. Blue opaques are great for ladies who are dipping their toes into the world of coloured tights.

We’re hoping for some even warmer weather soon so that we can wear some sheer tights! Here at we hope that you all have a lovely Easter break.

What MyTights Wore – 11.04.14

Spring has finally sprung and the only thing prettier than the blossoming trees outside is the sheer range of fabulous hosiery inside the MyTights office.

Nix looks fabulous wearing the gorgeous Trasparenze Dorella Footless Leggings with a short chevron patterned dress and large gold hoop earrings. Follow Nix’s example and wear your mini dresses with style by matching them with leggings.

Floral tights are an elegant way to embrace fashion tights. Laura wears her floral patterned tights with a pleated long-sleeved dress, slim black belt, patent black heels and statement silver necklace.

Embracing the horizontal stripe trend, Emma teams her stripy fashion tights with black ankle boots, skater skirt and horizontal striped jumper. Mock over the knee tights that combine opaque and sheer deniers are perfect for when the weather is not quite warm enough for low denier sheer tights.

Hopefully we will have even more gorgeous weather next week, whatever happens we’ll be wearing some fabulous tights!

For a glamorous look that’s both elegant and different, follow Suzanne’s example and match some floral patterned tights along with your favourite work dress.  Here Suzanne wears these pretty fashion tights with some chic black boots and a burgundy dress.

Fashion Blogger Styles: 3 Different Looks

Check out the latest looks from these fantastic bloggers…

The lovely Laura wrote a brilliant review of the Falke Pure Matt 100 in her blog – So Far So Chic. And of course in true Falke style “they never rode down, snagged or sagged.” Laura shows off the tights’ sheer to waist brief design beautifully in her chic black micro dress, proving that even with flirty hemlines no reinforced material will appear to distract from your ensemble. Steal Laura’s look by combining inky black quilted boots, black opaque tights, a black long sleeved dress, some fabulous sunnies and a matching large leather bag. This elegant style is the perfect solution to that chilly winter/spring transition allowing you to stay warm and look gorgeous at the same time.

Seamed tights

Check out Mary’s pins in the Jonathan Aston Contrast Seam and Heel Tights that fit right at home in the We Heart Vintage blog with their flirty scarlet seam and Cuban heel detail. For retro legs that wow, follow Mary’s example and team these stunning seamed tights with a gorgeous red vintage dress and black leather jacket. Back seams and Cuban heels aren’t just synonymous with vintage style, they’ll also work to elongate those lovely legs, while the scarlet version provides a modern update on the classic style.

Tartan Two Piece from Topshop Loving Youth Label

Charlotte from Lurch Hound Loves was rocking the Jonathan Aston Lurex Anklets at LFW, matching these fabulous anklets with an on-trend tartan midi-dress and cropped top combo. Metallic is set to be big next season and socks were seen all over London Fashion Week  AW14 so make sure that you stock up now. Copy Charlotte’s clever combination of on-trend pieces by rocking a baby pink satchel along with a tartan outfit worn over a top with a high neck. With so many fashion boxes ticked, it’s no wonder that her look was picked up by Company Magazine, Elle, Vogue, Grazia, Glamour, and You Magazine.
