You may remember last autumn that MyTights founder Laura became a small screen star for the day, appearing as a member of the panel for The Apprentice final. The would be business venture in question? Tights, of course, with finalist Bianca Miller proposing a range of sheer tights that catered to every skin tone. Whilst we were thrilled that Laura was asked to assert her hosiery know-how to help Lord Sugar make his final decision, Bianca narrowly missed out on the prize, which instead went to Mark Wright with his (far less interesting) digital marketing platform.
Impressed by how composed Bianca was in her all-important presentation, we knew that wouldn’t be the last we saw of the entrepreneur and her aptly named ‘’True Skin’’ range, and it appears we were right. This week, it was announced that, undeterred by Lord Sugar’s rejection, Bianca is attempting to gain the capital needed to kickstart her venture through crowd funding. It was also revealed that Lord Sugar hasn’t given up hope of trying his luck in the hosiery market altogether, with Bianca claiming that there has been ‘email correspondence’ between the two.
Originally conceived as a high-end product, Bianca clearly took the advice offered to her by the panel of experts seriously. Launching in October, the brand will now be aimed at a high street market, with prices starting at as little as £8.99 a pair. Promising sheer tights for every spectrum on the skin tone range, we suggest you watch this space, and we wouldn’t be too surprised to see Bianca’s name cropping up again here in the near future…
If you can’t wait that long, we already have a range of fabulous ultra-sheer and bare leg look tights to match your skin tone, including our newest brand Nubian Skin, with four distinct shades aimed specifically at darker complexions!
