Fashion is a weird and wonderful thing – almost anything goes. And if you’re one of the most established designers in the world anything you present to the fashion hungry is going to be greedily gobbled up and digested rather quickly. It is ironic that the fashion house renowned for Haute Couture and garments that celebrate quality has showcased a collection strongly influenced by peasant attire! Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel put on a spectacular show for his ready to wear S/S collection. Models frolicked in hay stacks and strutted down muddy paths wearing peasant-y poppy prints, crochet, ruffles, aprons, clogs and sheer patterned tights and stockings.
Lagerfeld’s show gave birth to a new trend of playful dressing and now the rest of us can’t wait to run wild! At MyTights we have summed up the season’s tendencies of beige, ivory, rough textures and transparency with our extensive range of sheer tights that are similar to those seen on the Chanel catwalk. Sheer tights are perfect for acting as a foundation for any outfit, especially neutral tones. Feel free to go OTT with your outfit; this may be the only opportunity ever presented to us to go play with prints and make them clash!
Never mind the hay at Lagerfeld’s show, at MyTights we are on a roll (excuse the pun). Our new products are perfect for indulging in this trend and come in the form of Celsete Stein Knee High Socks. Designs include florals, tattoos, lace and dots. To look ultimately Chanel, marry these socks with clogs and invest in a frothy blouse and tweed mini. Otherwise just turn up your jeans or Capri pants and let them play peek-a-boo at your ankles.
Mulberry S/S 10 gave us more Playful dressing with delicious colours mixed with contrast prints. At MyTights we’ve made sure you can co-operate all the key colours for summer into your wardrobe. Just try Jonathan Aston’s 40D opaque coloured tights and wear with a drop-waisted gathered skirt in a ditsy print to get that on trend peasant-y look!
