It’s no secret that we’re all BIG Kate fans here at MyTights HQ. We, along with pretty much the entire nation (and the world’s media), have been waiting with bated breath for the arrival of Baby Cambridge for weeks now. Finally, on Monday, a future King was born – and last night the moment everyone had been waiting for arrived, as the proud new parents emerged onto the steps on the hospital cradling their new arrival.

Kate looked a little tired but simply radiant – not much like a woman who had just given birth a day previously. In a super sweet blue polka dot dress and cream wedges, if we had expected her to look any different now she’s a mum, we were wrong. Everything we know and love about her was there: the beaming smile, the self-applied make-up, and of course the staple sheer tights, which made her legs look glowingly flawless.

It’s the one part of her look we can guarantee you can get without an army of stylists and a royally huge budget – actually, you’re also probably capable of putting on your own make up and smiling, which means that all our favourite Kate trademarks are simple to replicate at home. Bare leg look hosiery is so advanced now that flawless pins are ridiculously easy to fake, if you know what to go for. If you’re in need of some inspiration, here are our top 5:

• Wolford Luxe 9 Tights: Kate’s known to wear Wolford, so these have got the Royal Seal of Approval
• Falke Shelina Tights: voted best sheer tights by Grazia magazine!
• Naturals Sideria Tights: great for those on a budget at only £6
• Aristoc Ultimate Tights: the ladder resist ultra sheer – a miracle in Hosieryland
• Oroblu Geo 8 Tights: available in 7 shades, so no skintone is left out
Still not sure where to start? We’ve created the Ultimate Sheers Guide to help those in need of a little guidance, so whether you need help choosing the ideal product or the perfect shade, help is on hand.

All that’s left now is for the new parents to come up with a name (Prince William says they’re “still working on it”) – so bets are still open. We hear you can still get great odds on Wayne and Thatcher… but for now, Baby Cambridge will do just fine.
