Remember, remember, the 19th of October…

…Because it’s National Stockings Day!

Now don’t get us wrong, we love wearing tights. They’re easy, versatile and we don’t even know they’re there half the time. But there’s just getting away from the fact that stockings are the ultimate hosiery choice when you want something super luxe. Yes, hold ups give a similar feel but for full on retro glamour you need stockings, and what better excuse to work them than National Stockings Day, which is taking place on 19th October?

Charnos hosiery are using the day to raise money for Breast Cancer Care and have organised events in London, Manchester and Glasgow. In the House of Fraser stores on London’s Oxford Street and in Glasglow, troupes of can can dancers will perform; while in Manchester a team of stockings-clad ladies will be storming the city with their collecting tins.

The Director of Fundraising and Marketing for Breast Cancer Care, Judy Beard, said: “many women feel that they lose their femininity during treatment [for breast cancer]. Charnos National Stockings Day is a great excuse to get together with your friends, have fun and treat yourself by wearing beautiful stockings, while helping to raising awareness”.

We’re doing our bit to help, too – we’ll be giving away a pair of Charnos Elegance Hold Ups or Stockings to 7 random Charnos customers

every day for the next week (running from 13th – 19th October). So take your pick of all the gorgeous Charnos and Mary Portas & Charnos fashion to be in with a change of being one of our lucky winners!

If you get a chance, we seriously recommend heading to one of the performances to check it out – as you can see from our picture of last year the Charnos girls certainly turned heads in London and we’re sure they will again. Or you can donate on the Charnos Hosiery National Stockings Day JustGiving page:

Failing that, slip into some gorgeous stockings on the 19th for an ultra feminine, super sexy wardrobe update!
