Sara Blakely, creator of Spanx, named in Time Magazine's 100 most Influential People

Sara Blakely, the creator of Spanx shapewear, has been named one of Time Magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world.  The story of how she founded the company is famous: armed with little more than $5,000 and a great idea, she started the Spanx company and started manufacturing shapewear in 2000.  Before long it was being worn and endorsed by celebrities everywhere, from Oprah Winfrey to Gwyneth Paltrow… and Sara became the youngest self-made female billionaire in the world.  Maintaining 100% of the company, she has never sold out to investors and has not spent a penny on advertising.  For someone counting A-list celebrities among her customers, that’s pretty impressive.
