You may remember some time ago now we blogged about attending the launch of an exciting new hosiery collaboration between one of our favourite brands, Jonathan Aston, and world renowned fashion designer Zandra Rhodes (a Dame, FYI.) Well we’re pleased to announce the new collection has landed at MyTights HQ… and it does anything but disappoint! At the launch, we got a sneak preview into some of the patterns and prints that might be on offer, and it’s been great to see how these have been transferred into chic and above all, wearable pieces.
As far as partnerships go, we think this one’s a real winner. On a par with strawberries and cream, fish and chips and even Ant & Dec, the range offers designer fashion for your legs but without the A-list price tag! With three pairs of gorgeous fashion tights in the mix and a pair of ankle socks for good measure, we’ve rounded up the collection that everyone’s talking about…
Now, anyone who’s followed the career of Rhodes will know that she’s famed for adding quirky touches to her fashion, so much so that she’s developed a couple of trademark traits, one of which being peacock print. Taking advantage of the hosiery expertise offered by Jonathan Aston, the designer has created the gorgeous Peacock Net Tights, which are made from a tulle base to reveal a slight glimpse of skin. Covered in an intricate effect reminiscent of peacocks, they’ll offer a decorative touch to evening outfits, and contain Lycra, so will fit like a glove. If you like these but don’t often wear tights, Rhodes has also created an ankle socks alternative. Great for wearing with heels and flats alike, the socks come with elastic tops and are reinforced at the toe to halt the effect of wear and tear.
Another of Rhodes’ trademarks has also made the cut in the Safety Pin Tights. Beginning at the waistband, these 60 denier opaques not only keep you warm, but come with a quirky backseam to draw attention to your legs. Extending down the leg in wayward fashion before wrapping around your lower legs, the ‘chain-like’ print culminates in embellished safety pins to give your whole look some wow factor. But don’t worry about the health hazards – the pins are printed to appear like the real thing, just without the inevitable bleeding!
Last but not least, the collection also comprises the Wiggle Tights. Fabulously fun and great for injecting some prints into plainer outfits, these black semi-opaques feature a squiggly effect that runs throughout. Created by hundreds of tiny holes that cover the leg in contrast to the opaque base, these are great for wearing to parties, and are made sheer to waist, so work with any hemline!
And just in case you were after a spot of designer fashion but nothing’s caught your eye here, Jonathan Aston have also worked alongside Celia Birtwell for another gorgeous range. Now that’s only way to celebrate your 50th birthday!Read More
