If you’ve been wondering why you haven’t seen the fashion in-crowd much in the press of late, that’s because they’ve all been locked away in Somerset House, admiring the new designer collections for AW15! Don’t worry if you haven’t had time to catch up on the new styles emerging from London Fashion Week, the MyTights team are here to fill in all the blanks and round up our favourite hosiery looks for the upcoming season! And what a great week it was – we were thrilled to see just how much legwear made the cut. Here’s our round-up of the best styles that you’ll be wearing come the autumn…

Oroblu Adelle Tights

While there was an abundance of tights and socks on the catwalk, we’ve narrowed it down to four main trends which stood out, the first of which was spots! It doesn’t take a genius to work out that spots are set to be huge in the coming months, not only appearing at the Diane Von Furstenberg show at New York last week but also being a consistent part of Giles Deacon AW15 collection.

Every single one of his models paired their gothic ensembles with black spotty sheers, a look that we loved! While this monochrome ensemble may be a bit OTT for a trip to the shops, we’ll certainly be copying the tights. How? With the Oroblu Adelle Tights of course, which are identical to the tights worn by the GILES models.

For something a little different, head for the Wolford Poppy Tights – all the appeal of spots but with an asymmetrical design for a quirky twist.

Time to banish your black opaques to the back of the drawer, ladies! Colour is set to reign in AW15, appearing at the shows of Preen, Costelloe and Daks to name but a few. Our favourite look stemmed from Costelloe, in particularly the gorgeous berry opaques as seen on the right. Paired with a red velvet coat with a skater style bottom, the great thing about shades like this is that they’re not too loud, meaning they can be worn well…just about anywhere! Burgundys, forest greens and deep violets were the biggest trends we spotted, which is brilliant, as we have the perfect way to recreate the look with the Pamela Mann 50 Denier Tights! Available in no less than 20 colours, these 50 denier opaques are a) affordable, b) versatile and c) fabulously on-trend! If something a little more luxurious is up your street, another option are the Falke Pure Matt 100 Tights, which come in eight colours and benefit from a multitude of quality features, not to mention a super soft finish.

London Fashion Week was something of a sock frenzy – no arguments from us! From colourful ankle socks to black knee highs, socks featured just about everywhere, adding a cute and preppy touch to the looks and offering some warmth at the same time. For us, the best looks were seen at Jones and Daks, particularly the mustard yellow socks as seen on the left. Coming from much-loved designer duo Teatum Jones, the vibrant socks worked perfectly with the kooky patterned dress and fringed shoes. Okay, so we don’t think we’d opt for this much colour and pattern at once, but we’ll definitely be pulling out our colourful socks! Great with denim shorts and day dresses, you’ll be the height of fashion in the Trasparenze Monique Ankle Socks. Whether you opt for the Giallo shade a la Jones or any of the other 12 hues, these are the inexpensive way to nail the hot ankle socks trend.

Wet look

There’s nothing like a high shine finish to inject some rock chick glamour in to your look! Which was exactly the thoughts of Huisghan Zhang, it would seem, who included an array of gorgeous wet look tights into her designs. Keeping it classic in black, her models teamed their glossy legwear with printed dresses and heeled sandals for a look that was brimming with allure. We hear you, it might not be suitable for everyday life, but there’s nothing stopping you opting for some wet look hosiery for a glamorous evening look. To master the trend, the new Wolford Estella Leggings are perfect, even coming with a quirky seam at the knee for yet more fashion points. For something more budget-friendly, the Trasparenze Callophrys Leggings may be just the thing…

What MyTights Wore – 17.04.14

We’re all excited about the upcoming Easter weekend. In the run-up to the holiday, we’ve been enjoying lots of different types of hosiery this week as well as socks!

Nude fishnet tights provide a subtle yet fun look that’s suitable for every office. Laura styles her pair with a tweed jacket, jade green polo neck and matching leaf green skirt.

Nix’s Jonathan Aston Iris socks match perfectly with her turquoise and white ensemble. These fashion forward socks feature two important SS14 trends: glitter and pastel pink.

Emma breaks up a navy and light grey office outfit with the addition of blue opaque tights. Blue opaques are great for ladies who are dipping their toes into the world of coloured tights.

We’re hoping for some even warmer weather soon so that we can wear some sheer tights! Here at MyTights.com we hope that you all have a lovely Easter break.

Socks, socks and even more socks!

Our ankles crave them and our outfits need them. No longer are they afterthoughts on chilly mornings, socks are a necessity this A/W, helping us pick up fashion points here there and everywhere.

From colour pop knee highs to cosy over the knee socks, we can account for every occasion.  With London Fashion Week only a few weeks ago, and the party season just round the corner, now is the time to get sock savvy with a little help from us.

Now, starting with patterns…

Perhaps a little backlash from last season’s loud and brash prints, traditional patterns are having a moment this A/W. Heritage seems to be the buzzword with gorgeous Argyle knee highs and warm ribbed socks favoured by

editors and stylists alike.

Glamour shows us how elegant an over the knee sock can be with a beautiful Argyle print.

Now the designer socks featured are not exactly purse friendly, so here at MyTights we have found a cheaper but just as classic alternative. The Pamela Mann Argyle Over Knee socks are a modern take on the timeless pattern with a high cotton content to keep your legs happy throughout the day. The guilt free price tag only makes it easier to invest in both gorgeous colours.

As for the colour code this season…

Colour pops and colour blocking is big this season, and one of the easiest ways to get involved is through your tights and socks. Choose the right shade and it can take you from day to night effortlessly. ELLE reveals how simple it can be with our coloured socks. The length is completely up to you, but however high (or low) you go, make sure your colour stands out.

Wear the Transparenze Monique Ankle Socks in the Arancio shade for tangerine clad ankles, or go for a subtler Rosa Antico colour for a romantic feel.

If you’re after a bit more coverage, choose the Cinzia Knee Highs from Transparenze. The purple Prugna, plummy Melanza or forest green Olivia are all colours of the moment and worn under knee length skirts or black shift dresses, they are the quickest way to inject colour into your day.

Graced with lace…

Although the temperatures may be dipping, fishnet and lace anklets are still as popular as ever. With a feminine charm and allure by the bucket loads, we can see why. Following on from his show at LFW, the Mark Fast anklets are set to be a success this season. Chose from with the Fast at Jonathan Aston Honeycomb or Scramble anklet for socks with a twist, appropriate foot attire for a glamorous evening out.

Build your sock collection now to ensure that when the temperatures plummets, your ankles won’t be left behind!
