Laura’s Choice: Our AW15 Trend Forecast!

A forecast you can trust is hard to come by (just ask Michael Fish), but that doesn’t mean they don’t exist. Having cast our expert eyes over the autumn catwalk shows, the team at MyTights have compiled the ultimate list of what we expect to be trending over the coming months. And get set for a hosiery extravaganza! With everything from cosy over knee socks through to decorative nets, now’s your chance to get an insider’s snoop into exactly what you’re going to be wearing your legs this autumn/winter…

We’d talk about hosiery all day if we could, but to make things a little more concise, we’ve categorised the key trends into four main categories, beginning with one of our favourites – spots!

Oroblu Adelle Tights

Oroblu Adelle Tights

Polkadots

It comes as no surprise to us that spots were a popular choice across the catwalk, as we’d already spotted style icons Anne Hathaway and Taylor Swift trying out the trend. So popular that EVERY single model at Diane von Furstenberg’s New York show sported a pair of spotty sheers, dotty hosiery bring a sweet twist to any look, and is rare in that its appeal can extend from the workplace to the bar. Stickler for tradition? Opt for a classic pair with the Oroblu Adelle Tights, with their dainty dots, 20 denier base and choice of two colours. If the winter weather is unforgiving, something thicker will be necessary, in which case head to the Charnos Lurex Spot Opaque Tights, which come in a 40 denier. And with one eye on the party season, they’re covered in metallic gold dots to really ensure you stand out from the crowd.  Or for something extra luxurious, the new Wolford Daria Tights are a must, and come with a tulle base, so will keep you cooler during the transition from summer into autumn.

Trasparenze Dora Wool Rb Over Knee Socks

Trasparenze Dora Wool Rb Over Knee Socks

Over Knee Socks

Snug and sexy aren’t two words commonly heard together, but with the abundance of over knee socks on the catwalk, that’s about to change. Ribbed styles were particularly popular, as demonstrated by Hilfiger’s American soccer inspired NY show. If you’re a fan, grab the perfect pair in the Trasparenze Dora Wool Rib Over Knee Socks, available in 8 autumnal colours and secured with thick tops that won’t leave tell tale red marks. When it’s too warm for wool, play it cool in the Pamela Mann Over Knee Socks. Fuss free and affordable, they come in a one size fits all and are reinforced at the toe – so will last season-wide. It’s not all about the plainer styles though, and if you are keen to start the season off with a bang, Oroblu’s Janis Over Knees are the way to go, with their mock lace up design that’s guaranteed to send double glances in your direction!

Nets

From classic fishnets through to intricate patterns, showing off your legs should be on top of your priority list this season. Simple yet effective, grab a real wardrobe staple with a pair of the Trasparenze Rita Fishnet Tights, which come in a host of quirky shades as well as classic, or the Wolford Twenties Tights, which are great if you’re seeking a little luxury. As great as classic styles are, the catwalks also saw funkier styles of net making the grade, too, not least with the floral beauties at the Libertine show. If you’re keen to try something new, take a look at the Pamela Mann Paisley Net Tights, which their paisley (as the name would suggest) effect, or the Floral Net Tights from Charnos, which have an ornamental floral design running throughout – both are great for transforming evening dresses, or for layering over coloured tights when the temperatures dip!

Trasparenze Deejay Tights

Trasparenze Deejay Tights

Sparkle

Grey mornings, downpours and dark nights, it’s fair to say winter isn’t always a bundle of laughs. But if there’s one thing we know will improve your mood, its glitter! And it just so happens sparkly tights were everywhere on the catwalk shows, so you’ll be bang on trend too. If it’s tights you love, the Trasparenze Deejay Tights will be right up your street, with their all over glittery fleck. Even better, they’re opaque – so you won’t have to suffer in the name of style. The Pretty Polly Jewel Backseam Tights also deserve a mention, with a glam backseam made up of individual jewels, the perfect choice for your work Christmas party. And if your little ones want to get in on the action, treat them to a pair of the Pex Sparkle Children’s Tights, which combine being warm and thick with a glittery shine to make them the envy of the playground!

Take note ladies – this is one forecast you can DEFINITELY trust!

Until next time…

Laura’s Choice: Your most searched for!

When it comes to figuring out exactly what’s trending in the world of hosiery, forget trawling through the tabloids or religiously following the catwalks, we have another foolproof method – and it comes from you, our customers! Through the magic of modern marketing, we’re able to keep tracks on the terms that our customers search for most when shopping on our website, therefore finding out which hosiery you stylish lot have been wearing on your legs this season. With this in mind, we’ve taken a look at the top 5 common search terms, and rounded up our favourite styles of each, leaving us with the crème de la crème that you’ve been snapping up left, right and centre…

Pamela Mann Fishnet Tights

Pamela Mann Fishnet Tights

Search Term 1: Fishnet Tights

What wardrobe is complete with a pair of trusty fishnets? Great in the summer, you can also wear in the winter by layering over sheers or like me, coloured tights. If you’re after a classic pair that won’t break the bank, head to the Pamela Mann Fishnet Tights, which do exactly what they say on the tin and come in a host of brighter colours if you’re feeling experimental.  Need something a little more understated for the office? Micronet tights are the way to go, not least with the Jonathan Aston Micronet Tights, available in both black and natural and offering coverage similar to a pair of sheers. My favourites however are the Trasparenze Rita Tights, which have a slightly wider net than would be considered traditional. Fab for layering over a pair of coloured tights to brighten up plainer outfits – I particularly love the Indigo and Mattone (burnt orange)! And proving that you lot know what you’re talking about when it comes to fashion, fishnets have emerged as one of the top trends for this season, so stocking up is a must!

Falke Seidenglatt 70D Tights

Falke Seidenglatt 70D Tights

Search Term 2: Glossy Tights

Shiny without leaving everyone you pass wishing they’d packed a pair of sunglasses, glossy tights are brilliant for taking a day outfit into the evening. For an everyday pair of sheers, it comes as no surprise to me that the Aristoc Ultra Shine Tights are continually amongst our bestsellers.  Robust, affordable and chic to a T, these shiny 10 denier tights fly off the shelf. If you love the look of these but require something EVEN shinier, I’d also recommend the Levante Class Tights, which are ever so slightly thicker at a 12 denier. Proving that wrapping up warm can be glam too, the Falke Seidenglatt 70 Tights always deserve a mention. Virtually indestructible, soft to touch and with a sensational shimmer, they’ve long been one of my favourites, and come in 4 stylish shades. No round up of glossy tights would be complete without the Neon 40’s from Wolford, that not only make legs stand out from the crowd but combine a durable 40 denier yarn with the appearance of a 20 denier sheer – great for navigating between seasons!

Search Term 3: Seamed Hosiery

The hosiery world seems to have gone (quite literally) full circle! You might not know that all nylon tights originally started out with a backseam, as this was the point where two sides were hand-sewn together, thus creating a line. After years of being considered dated or unfashionable, seamed hosiery is as popular as it’s ever been, and it’s great for giving your outfits a retro twist and can even make your legs appear longer than they are! If it’s a classic pair of tights you’re after, look no further than the Jonathan Aston Seam and Heel Lycra Tights, with their slender backseam and vintage Cuban heel.  As well as the more traditional styles, our brands love nothing more than to put a modern day spin on the trend, hence styles such as the Jonathan Aston In Bloom Tights (floral seam) and the Charnos Spot Backseam Tights (polkadots, predictably). It’s not only tights with seams either, and if you’re a fan of hold ups, you’ll love the Jonathan Aston Sweet Roses Hold Ups, which combine a cut and sew lace pattern with slender seam.

Search Term 4: Spanx

No matter how many times we get up at the crack of dawn to partake in a new exercise fad, it’s unlikely we’re ever going to be 100% happy with our figure. That’s where shapewear comes in, and it seems that our customers love the shaping magic of Spanx just as much as us. And with our brand new Spanx page, it’s easier than ever to find the right style for you! Spanx products come in a wealth of different forms, depending on your problem zones and the type of strength you require. While it would be impossible to round up everything in this paragraph, I should definitely point you in the direction of their newest Shape My Day range. Comprising everything from shaping shorts that lift your rear through to all over shapers, the collection is sleeker, more effective, and even more affordable that styles past. Replacing the Slim Cognito range, they offer very strong control to tackle your problem zones instantly.

Pretty Polly 200D Fleecy Opaque Thermal Footless Tights

Pretty Polly 200D Fleecy Opaque Thermal Footless Tights

Search Term 5: Footless

Footless styles are great for wearing with sandals or open toed shoes, so always grow in popularity at this time of year. Generally thinner than leggings, footless tights usually require a longer hemline to cover up, and if you’re a fan, we have a fab selection at MyTights. For connoisseurs of colour, your first port of call should be the Pamela Mann 3D Footless Tights. Just like their footed counterparts, these 50 denier tights are available in an array of colours, with everything from classic black through to the vibrant flo yellow. If you’re less about colour and more about prints, check out the Pamela Mann Bonnie Leggings, which have a tartan pattern that even the most patriotic of Scots would be proud of. It may be a bit premature in August, but we’ve already got one eye on the winter, so it’s also worth taking a look at the Pretty Polly 200D Fleecy Thermal Opaque Tights, which have a brushed fleece lining to keep the cold firmly out!

Laura’s Choice: My Hosiery Drawer Staples

Having founded a hosiery company, one of the most common questions I’m asked is which tights I couldn’t live without. Whilst a thorough list of all the styles I’ve worn and liked over the years would probably equate to the length of a Dickensian novel, I’ve rounded up a collection of essentials that I turn to on a near weekly basis. Chosen for their quality, versatility and classic style, consider these my ‘desert island hosiery picks!’

Falke Shelina Tights

Falke Shelina Tights

Bare Leg Looks

Weather permitting, at this time of year, I try to wear bare leg hosiery as often as possible. What I love about ultra sheer hosiery is that it looks as if I’m not wearing anything on my legs at all, yet helps to even out skin tone and create a moisturised finish. Anyone who frequently visits the blog will know that my absolute favourites are the Falke Shelina Tights, thanks to their flawless 8 denier appearance and 12 denier strength. Made in 7 skin tone shades as well as classic black, I promise you that owning a pair of these will be your finest fashion choice to date. If you love to dig out strappy shoes during the summer months, they also come in a toeless variation, complete with handy toe loop to keep the style in place.

Wolford Neon 40 Tights

Wolford Neon 40 Tights

Sheers

If I’m in the mood to wear something a little more noticeable on my legs but still want to stay cool, another one of my favourites are the Oroblu Sensuel 13 Tights. Available in an array of colours, these 13 denier tights have a silky soft finish and slight sheen that’s perfect for wearing to elegant events. If I want to add some extra luxury to my legs, the best on the market for that are the Falke Fond de Poudre Tights. Boasting a slight sheen finish and enough shades to give you an abundance of choice, they feel uber soft against your legs and have a sandal toe, so can be worn with any footwear you wish. Or if you’re on a budget, another fab choice are the Aristoc Ultra Shine Tights, which are particularly great for swankier occasions, with an extra glossy finish that adds a little panache to your look for just £6 a pair.

The next style in my hosiery capsule are hard to group, as they look like sheer tights, but are actually opaque! Before you think I’m going mad, allow me to introduce you to the Wolford Neon 40 Tights. Typically Wolford in that they really do go the extra mile and are virtually indestructible, these glossy 40 denier tights have the durability and warmth of an opaque, but appear like 20 denier sheers! Perfect for masking imperfections and working to almost camouflage your legs, these are incredibly popular and come in a host of different shades.

Fishnets

Fishnet tights are particularly on trend at the moment, and despite their open net design, can be worn all year round with some careful styling My favourites are the Trasparenze Rita Tights, which have a larger than average net for a twist on the classic style. Perfect everywhere from the workplace to the bar, they‘re available in 7 colours, ranging from the classic black through to the slightly wackier shades of  Mattone (burnt orange) and Lampone (fuchsia pink). A top tip for wearing fishnets all year round is to layer over another pair of tights: sheers for a natural look or a pair of colourful tights if you’re feeling experimental. For a brilliant selection of coloured tights, take a look at the Jonathan Aston 40D Tights, with 21 vibrant shades and a price tag that nobody could be disappointed with!

Patterns

I tend to wear less loud patterns now than I used to, but when I do, I like to opt for classic prints that have a habit of staying in fashion every season. Investing in a quality pair of fashion tights is a must, as they’re simply brilliant for updating plainer outfits. For me, the most classic print of all is polka dots, which is why I love the Adelle Tights from Italian label Oroblu. Featuring a plethora of small spots that run throughout and uninterrupted by a brief, they’re fab in that they’re understated enough to wear to the office, yet dressy enough should some impromptu after work socialising be on the cards.

Falke Warm Deluxe Tights

Falke Warm Deluxe Tights

Opaques

While opaques may be the last thing of your mind in the middle of the summer (even during this damp patch), having a few pairs of quality opaques to hand is an absolute must. During the autumn and winter months, one of my favourite styles are the Falke Seidenglatt 70 Tights, with a warming 70 denier weight, beautifully shiny finish and kind of durability you’d expect from a quality brand. For dressing up, you should also take a look at the Wolford Satin de Luxe Tights, with their ultra shiny finish and subtle backseam.

Should we be unlucky enough to find ourselves in a seriously cold snap, no need to hibernate – simply grab a pair of the Falke Warm Deluxe Tights instead. Giving legs reassuring warmth the second you pull them on, these thermal tights utilise a soft plush technique that conserves heat and keeps the cold out! The other fleecy option I love are the Pretty Polly 200D Fleecy Opaque Tights, which feature a cosy fleeced lining and were once described by The Guardian as ‘the best thing to happen to winter since hot chocolate.’ Praise indeed!

Fab in Fishnets – Alesha Dixon

Alesha Dixon

Alesha Dixon

While the emphasis may have been on the latest bunch of hopefuls competing in the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent, something else stood out for the MyTights team during last night’s results show. Taking to the stage for the first time in 4 years (time flies!), judge Alesha Dixon showed all the contestant how it’s done, with an all-singing, all-dancing rendition of her latest single. As catchy a tune as it may be, our favourite thing about the performance were her fishnet tights! It’s fair to say her extravagant two-piece was probably a little too risqué for a trip to the shops, but we loved her choice of legwear, so much so that we’ve rounded up our favourite fishnet fancies on offer. Perfect for this time of year, fishnets should form part of a summer capsule for any fashion-conscious lady. Here’s our top 5!

Levante Fishnet Tights

Levante Fishnet Tights

The classic

If it’s a classic net you’re after à la Alesha, the Levante Fishnet Tights are the perfect place to start, with two timeless shades and purse-friendly price. Every woman should own a pair like these, not only slotting seamlessly into your evening wear but your office wardrobe to boot.

The colourful

While we’d never turn our noses up at a pair of black fishnets, sometimes only a splash of colour will liven up our outfits. Fashion favourites Pamela Mann agree, with their Fishnet Tights, available in 9 colours, ranging from the safety of black through to Flo Yellow.

Jonathan Aston Oxygen Tights

Jonathan Aston Oxygen Tights

The Fashion Forward

As great as classic nets are, fishnets are forever being reinvented, and never more so than with the Jonathan Aston Oxygen Tights, with a unique curved net that reminds us of the art deco period. Or if seams are your weakness, take a look at the Oroblu April Tights, with a side seam stretching along the outside leg compelte with attractive tricot effect.

The hold ups

It’s not only tights on offer at MyTights. If you prefer the look and feel of hold ups, treating yourself to the Pamela Mann Fishnet Hold Ups is a must, with their classic design and elegant lace tops. And just £5 a pair!

Nets never go out of fashion, so make sure you check out our complete range of fishnets before you depart.

Trasparenze Aurora Bridal Garter

Trasparenze Aurora Bridal Garter

The wedding season is upon us! You’ve found THE dress, the best man has coiffed his speech to perfection, and your table decorations are everything you’ve ever dreamed of. Now all you need is some beautiful hosiery to match! Whether you’re the blushing bride, the hungover groom or the reluctant bridesmaid, MyTights.com have a fantastic selection of wedding hosiery to hand. From silk socks for guys through to the obligatory wedding day garter, we have just the thing to leave your legs looking their best on the special day. Now just to make sure you get to the church on time!

The Bride

Let’s face it, the bride is the centre of attention on every wedding day. With all eyes on your walk down the aisle, it’s vital that every inch of your look is perfect, including your hosiery! Looking for a classic bare leg look? The Wolford Transparency 10 Tights could be just the ticket. Appearing like you’ve braved bare legs, these 10 denier tights boast a beautifully natural finish and all the luxury features that Wolford are renowned for. And what’s more, with their lightweight finish, you won’t overheat no matter how long the train on your dress!

Or if you want something a little more romantic as you say your vows, check out the Jonathan Aston Sweet Roses Hold Ups, with a sumptuous lace effect and vintage backseam. For those of you who embrace all of the age-old traditions with gusto, the Trasparenze Aurora Bridal Garter is a must. Staying in place no matter how many pictures you pose for, the lace and ribbon effect makes for a fabulous finishing touch to your gown.

The Bridal Party

Spanx Slimplicity Booty Booster Shorts

Spanx Slimplicity Booty Booster Shorts

Upstaging the bride may be the ultimate wedding day sin, but that doesn’t mean the bridal party can’t look their best. For a rear that even bridesmaid extraordinaire Pippa Middleton would be proud of, how about trying out the Spanx Slimplicity Booty Booster Shorts, which come with optional ‘butt-lets’ that slot into pockets and give your derriere a lift! For mothers of the bride, it has to be the Aristoc Ultimate 5D Sheer Tights. Offering a ‘no hosiery’ look but with failsafe LYCRA® Fusion technology, your legs will not only look flawless, but remain free from ladders from the ceremony to the after-party. If your dress is on the plain side, what better way to take your style up a notch than with the elegant Oroblu Adelle Tights? Covered in an array of dainty dots, these patterned gems are not only on trend but have a sheer to waist brief, meaning any length of hemline can work.

For the guests

Whether it’s a distant cousin or a work colleague, looking fabulous for a wedding is a must! The great thing about being a guest rather than playing a part in a wedding is that you can really experiment with different kind of hosiery to accessorize your dress. One such way to do that is with seams, and, getting into the wedding spirit, we love the Pamela Mann Love Seam Tights. These 15 denier sheers have a slender backseam culminating in the word ‘LOVE’ etched on each ankle – how romantic! Or how about opting for a pair of fishnet tights? For something a little different to the norm, make a beeline for the Charnos Honeycomb Net Tights with a fine mesh fabric resembling honeycomb itself. Another perk of being a guest is that you needn’t worry about showing yourself up on the dance floor. Heels aren’t always forgiving, so make sure your feet stay refreshed with a pair of the Levante Shoe Monkeys Foot Cushions, taking the pressure away from your feet.

The Groom

Falke Tiago Men's Short Socks

Falke Tiago Men’s Short Socks

Because it’s not all about the bride! Believe it or not, the groom plays a fairly big part in the day too, so it’s important they look suitably dapper. For a classic wedding day look, grab a pair of the Falke Tiago Men’s Short Socks, made with 98% cotton for a beautifully soft finish and keeping your feet cool all day long. Or if you’re the kind of guy who likes to experiment with fashion, the Happy Socks Men’s Socks Gift Box should be your port of call. With four funky socks (spots, stripes and everything in between), the hardest part will be choosing which pair to sport on the big day.

With wedding pictures set to take pride of place on your mantelpiece, you’ll want to look as trim as possible. With that in mind, invest in the Spanx For Men range. Flattening your stomach, firming the chest and even improving your posture, simply layer beneath your suit and you’re good to go.

Have a fantastic day!

Laura’s Choice: Top Trends!

Now the fashion weeks have come to a close and we don’t find ourselves continually refreshing the websites of just about every fashion magazine in existence, we’ve taken some time to consider what the key trends are likely to be for the upcoming months. In typical MyTights style, we’ve gone one step further, not only highlighting the key trends but letting you know how you can recreate them at the drop of a hat. Just call us your very own personal shoppers…

Trend 1: Coloured Opaques

Pamela Mann 50D Tights

Pamela Mann 50D Tights

Coloured opaques were quite simply everywhere, from London to New York and even making a stopover in both Paris and Milan. It seems like the fashion world has gone crazy for coloured tights, and rightly so in our opinion. Capable of updating your look and reigniting your love for that dress you bought 5 years ago and have never worn, why stick to black?

Winner: Pamela Mann 50 Denier Tights

There could only be one winner in this category for us. Forever finding their way on to our bestsellers list, these 50 denier tights come in no less than 20 beautiful colours, from classic shades of black and navy blue through to the delights of daffodil yellow. There really is no better way to make your outfits look good as new, and coming in at just £4.95 a pair, you’d have a hard time arguing against treating yourself to a pair of these.

Runner up: Falke Pure Matt 50D Tights

Coming in at a very close second place, German brand Falke have taken the trend for colour and added a luxury quality in a way that only Falke can. Available in seven colours and boasting a matte finish, they’ll stand the test of time and offer you a fun and colourful style day in, day out.

Trend 2: Fishnets

trasparenze rita

Trasparenze Rita Tights

Fishnets are never far from the top of my hosiery drawer, so I was thrilled to see them enjoying a ‘fashion moment’ on the catwalks. Whether worn on their own or layered over some funky coloured tights, nets are the perfect way to take your wardrobe favourites from drab to fab.

Winner: Trasparenze Rita Fishnet Tights

One of my must have hosiery styles, rarely a week goes by where I don’t pull on a pair of these fishnets. With a slightly larger net than would be considered traditional, they’re brilliant for layering over coloured tights or fashion styles and adding some sophistication to your look without giving too much away. I’m not ashamed to say I own a pair in every colour, and so should you!

Runner up: Jonathan Aston Oxygen Tights

Landing in our offices just a few weeks back, the Jonathan Aston Oxygen Tights are perfect for those of you who like to stay on trend but create an individual look at the same time. Nobody could argue against these tights being net, but the art deco design and quirky look makes them a fashionistas dream.

Trend 3: Spots

Wolford Poppy Tights

Wolford Poppy Tights

We weren’t surprised in the slightest to see spots making their mark on the catwalks, having been the pattern of choice of the A-list for months. Decorating the legs of every single model at Diane von Furstenberg (New York) and Giles (London), dots are the best way to stay on trend while retaining an elegant look. I’ve fallen hook, line and sinker for them!

Winner: Wolford Poppy Tights

Incorporating hundreds of tiny dots but with a whimsical Wolford twist, these 20 denier tights are covered in asymmetrical spots that will send the double takes in your direction. With the spots being denser at the ankle and dispersing as they ascend up the leg, these fashion sheers succeed at being feminine yet funky.

Runner up: Oroblu Adelle Tights

More of a classic polkadot style and one I’ve worn countless times, these 10 denier tights have an all over dotty design that adds a delicate and charming touch to your wardrobe. Understated enough for work and stylish enough for a night out, take your pick between black and navy blue.

Trend 4: Wet Look

Trasparenze Callophrys Leggings

Trasparenze Callophrys Leggings

As much as we’ve admired wet look styles over the years, they’ve never really had their big fashion break, sticking firmly in the wardrobes of the likes of Kate Moss. Until now that is! Even appearing at Saint-Laurent and dressing the legs of Beyonce in recent weeks, a vampy style awaits us all.

Winner: Trasparenze Callophrys Leggings

All the merits of a traditional legging but with a high shine finish to enhance your glamour credentials, the lightweight finish and elastic waistband make them brilliantly comfortable to boot. Great with oversized tees and tunics, bringing out your inner rock chick has never been easier.

Runner up: Pamela Mann Wet Look Leggings

Made in a mock leather fabric, these ultra-shiny leggings are your go-to option for bring a grunge-glam twist to your look. Cut off at the ankle and far more comfortable than the skin-tight fit would suggest, pair them with a longline statement tee and heeled ankle boots.

Who knew being on trend could be this simple?

Laura’s Choice: Between Season Style

British weather permitting, we seem to be over the worst of winter. It might still be a little damp and drizzly, but at least the blue skies have started to make an appearance. Although the mere sight of the sun being out makes most of us want to reach for our sheers, the reality is it’s not yet warm enough to embrace summer in full – the weather is firmly stuck in limbo land! But good news, your wardrobe doesn’t have to follow suit. How? With our top ‘between season style’ picks of course! From semi-opaque tights through to stylish nets, the collection of trans-seasonal fashion at MyTights.com will leave you looking and feeling your best before we can officially welcome in the spring.

To nail a ‘between season style’, semi-opaque tights should be your port of call. Sitting between 30 and 40 deniers, semi-opaque tights still allow you to show off some skin but with a smidge more warmth than sheers.. As well as being incredibly functional at this time of year, they’re also very much on trend. Don’t believe me? Just look the countless celebrities who have worn semi-opaque tights of late.

Anne and her gorgeous look!

 Best for: Work

Marketing manager Hannah in her Calvin Kleins!

Marketing manager Hannah in her Calvin Kleins!

For the office, the general etiquette is to stick with classic styles, and that’s exactly what’s on offer with the Wolford Perfectly 30 Tights. The ultimate in elegance and quality, I think these are a fabulous investment for your workwear wardrobe. Sure, they’re slightly more expensive than some other brands, but the quality is second to none, and I guarantee they’ll last you not only for the spring but also for the autumn and seasons to come. From the luxury to the everyday, my next offering comes from British heavyweights Pretty Polly, namely the Pretty Polly 40D Silk Finish Tights. Two pairs of 40 denier tights, complete with reinforced toe and boxer brief, for just £5! You can’t argue with value like that, so what better excuse to mix up your office style with the bottle green or navy shades?

After a compromise between the two? Turn your attention to the Aristoc 30D Opaque Tights. Representing real value for money, these classic tights are sale for just £9 a pair. The value stems from the use of microfiber yarns, which give your legs that soft finish you crave, not to mention coming with a reinforced toe and matte finish to ensure they keep cropping up in your everyday wear. If you require a little shaping magic to leave you feeling your best in the workplace, it simply has to be the Calvin Klein Ultra Fit 30D High Waisted Tights. What’s great about these is that they look and feel like any other pair of tights, yet come with light shaping control in the high-waisted panel to cinch in your waist and tone your wobbly bits to perfection. What could be better? Check out marketing manager Hannah in hers on the left!

Best for: Dinner and drinks

Be it a bite to eat with the girls or after work drinks, we all want to nail an elegant evening style. If it’s colour your wardrobes lacking, check out the Jonathan Aston 40D Opaque Tights. As well as leaving you with change leftover for the cab home, these 40 denier tights come in 17 funky colours, all of which will give your look a fun twist that’s perfect for the weekend! From metallic silver to deep violet, there’s no better way to jazz up your wardrobe at this time of year.Me in my Trasparenze Rita Fishnets in Black!

Prefer a more timless style? One of my favourites are the Oroblu Sensuel 30 Tights. Perfect for trans-seasonal weather (in fact, I wear mine all year round), these 30 denier tights have a subtle gloss to them to dress up nearly any ensemble. What’s more, they’re virtually indestructible, so they come highly recommended!

Anyone who knows me will know I’m a big fan of fishnet tights. While wearing fishnets on their own at this time of year isn’t always wise, the trick is to opt for micronet styles, which are made from a finer net offering the same sort of warmth offered by sheers. The Levante Micronet Tights are brilliant at adding some instant sophistication to your look without giving too much away. Another trick I’ve learnt being surrounded by hosiery every day is to layer a pair of fishnet tights over some classic sheers. Not only adding a personal touch to your look but bringing with it plenty of warmth, I tend to experiment with the Trasparenze Rita Tights. Available in four colours, there really is a shade to complement any outfit you fancy wearing… look what I did with mine on the right!

Best for: Nights out

Wolford Neon 40 Tights

Wolford Neon 40 Tights

When you require your legwear to add some glamour to your look, my top pick are the Wolford Neon 40 Tights. Good news if you can’t wait for your summer style to come into fruition, these fabulous tights have the look of a 20 denier sheer, yet the durability of a thicker 40 denier. The best of both worlds and a shiny finish making them evening appropriate – worth every penny in my opinion! Choose between eight colours to match your look to a tee. If you always find yourself straying towards patterns, why not try out the Pretty Polly Backseam Opaques with Bow. Ideal for taking away the chill in their air with their 40 denier weight, the wow factor can be found at the back, with a contrasting backseam and satin bows stitched onto the leg at mid-calf height. Vintage style personified, they’re also only £10 a pair.

Here’s hoping the weather can only improve!
