Stars in Their Tights

Yay for the colder weather! Celebs have been spotted left, right and centre over the last few days with their pins oozing covered up style. Here are three of our favourites…

1) Lauren Laverne at the 2011 Mercury Prize
The radio presenter and music fanatic showed her sexy side at the bash, teaming a LBLD (Little Black Lace Dress) with sheer black tights with a subtle shine, like these Aristoc Ultra Shine 10D Tights. A look that’s perfect for every occasion and will take you straight from office to bar!

2) Daphne Guinness at the 2011 Couture Council Awards honouring Valentino
Fashion designer, journalist and Guinness family heiress Daphne stepped out in mock suspender tights with lace detailing, teaming them with a huge beehive and asymmetric black coat dress. For a similar look check out the new Jonathan Aston Scarlett Tights and Pamela Mann’s Chain Garter Tights (pictured).

3) Sophie Ellis Bextor at the GQ Men of the Year Awards
Sophie shows us exactly how to wear tricky white tights without looking like a 5 year old. Teaming her diamond patterned style with a stunning check and pearl design dress, the singer/songwriter looked fabulous flying the flag for British fashion. Try a woollen pair like these Falke Merino Wool Tights in White  for a cool look that will keep you warm all winter!

It’s Holland Time

It’s here, it’s sheer, and it’s very far from austere….. The return of the House of Holland for Pretty Polly hosiery collection.

agyness_hh_bandana

The bunting is up, the silly string is ready and there are party hats galore as that time has finally arrived… The House of Holland Autumn/Winter hosiery collection has arrived!!!

First shown at London Fashion Week earlier this year, on the catwalk and at the launch party we were delighted to attend, House of Holland’s A/W clothing range has already become a celebrity favorite. Said to have been created with ‘the New York girl going downtown’ in mind, the collection has a distinct 90’s feel – the stench of Nenah Cherry, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Kurt Cobain oozes from the fabric. A theme which has definately rubbed-off onto their distinctive new hosiery line.

Eagerly awaited since the success of the last two collections for Pretty Polly, Henry Holland’s new hosiery range has not disappointed. Gorgeous bandana-style vintage paisley has inspired many of his designs such as the much desired Bandana Tight. Chic, and guaranteed to be spied on the legs of many of the fashion elite (they have already been spotted on Agyness Deyn and Sophie Ellis-Bextor), the Bandana Tight is set to be a key item in the coming season.

60871960This season is also predicted to see the rise of the knee-high sock, and the talented Mr Holland has unleashed some absolute stunners on the fashion world. Both the ‘Ball and Chain’ and the ‘Triple Chain’, were seen on the much idolised Ms Pixie Geldoff at Glastonbury this year. With their chunky-chain design in metallic, gold coloured thread, and with Henry’s trademark typographical elements, these are definitely hot socks.

Other stars of the collection include the fantastic Bandaknee Tights. We think they epitomise the ‘street culture’ look of the collection with their monochrome colours and lace knee patches – how many more trends could you want from one pair of tights!?

And last but not least…….. how could we sign off without mentioning this seasons twist on the iconic, coveted and all round adored ‘MOCK STOCKINGS’!……..

Yes, last season’s Super Suspender tights where a phenomenal hit with fans such as Agyness Deyn, Little Boots, Frankie Sandford and Princess Eugenie(!). This season they’re even sexier, our choice would be the Chain Suspender tights with super-glam metallic detailing to add some cheeky fun to any night out.
