Katy getting into the Tokyo way of life!

Katy getting into the Tokyo way of life!

Katy Perry has never been one to shy away from the fashion limelight, has she? In fact, her tour outfits are amongst the most risqué we’ve ever seen, but we can’t help but love her. Currently residing in Japan as part of her Prismatic World Tour, it seems that Katy has immersed herself fully in Japanese culture, stepping out in this Harajuku Girl inspired outfit. Pairing a white blouse with a pleated skater skirt and with her hair teased into tight plaits, her sweet look was brought together with a pair of crisp white ankle socks with stripe detail.

Wolford Leonie Socks

Wolford Leonie Socks

Laura’s Choice: Top Patterned Picks!

Oroblu Bouquet Leggings

Oroblu Bouquet Leggings

Apparently, us women wear just 20% of our wardrobe 80% of the time, and as much as it pains me to say it, I have to admit that I’m no exception. While there’s nothing wrong with having a capsule collection, it’s a real shame that that dress we simply HAD to have during an impromptu splurge will never see the light of day. One of the main reasons for our clothes languishing in our wardrobe is not knowing how to make them pop, particularly with plainer styles. Sure, they might look rather boring on the hanger, but working amongst hosiery 24/7 has taught me exactly how to make plainer styles work. The answer? Patterns. From head-turning geometrics to delicate florals, there’s no better way to rack up the style points, and my round-up of my favourite prints below means that nobody has to miss out.

FLORALS

Why florals?: delicate and understated, florals are perennially chic and add a feminine twist for any occasion.

Fashions have a habit of coming and going, but florals have dug their heels into the ground and stubbornly stayed put. If you’re looking for a classic floral print, take a look at the Charnos Opaque Flower Tights. Made in a semi-opaque 40 denier (ideal for this time of year, FYI), the mix of roses and leaves, can be dressed up or down, while the inclusion of a sheer toe adds the versatility factor. If something a little bit quirky is on your radar, cast your eyes over the Jonathan Aston Spontaneity Tights, reinventing the trend for seams with a vibrant pink floral seam stretching along the outside leg. Completing my floral trio are the Oroblu Bouquet Leggings, brand new to MyTights and doing exactly what they say on the tin (well, packet). Stretchy leggings covered in an array of colourful flowers, opt for these if you’re after stand out appeal that will from AM to PM.

GEOMETRICS

Why geometrics?: life is taken too seriously, so why not mix things up a bit with some edgy geometrics, which just so happen to be having something of a fashion moment…

You may not have worn geometrics before, and understandably so. After all, they’re a far cry from your classic black opaques, but there really is nothing more effective for jazzing up your basics and making things look as good as new. My favourites are the Jonathan Aston Magma Tights, which have a swarm of rectangles and opaque motifs randomly scattered across a 10 denier leg. They’re fun, quirky and entirely affordable, what’s not to love? To really take things up a notch, the particularly fashion-forward amongst us might want to take a look at the Wolford Stella Tights. These very tights featured in the Mario Dice collection at Milan Fashion Week, and it’s simple to see why they made the cut, with a striking graphic design on the outside leg, not to mention the mock hold up band. Not wanting to limit the geometric trend to just tights, your feet can join in on the action too with the Charnos 3PP Geometric Trainer Liners. One stripe, one check and one chevron – three times the style!

SPOTS

Charnos Geo Spot Tights

Charnos Geo Spot Tights

Why spots?: offering a sweet style for day or night, you’ll also be in the sartorial company of the likes of Anne Hathaway and woman of the moment Taylor Swift.

Spots are always near the front of my hosiery drawer. I love how they can transform even the simplest of dresses , without being too busy to mean they’re limited to more informal events. First things first, I’d like to introduce you to the Oroblu Adelle Tights, a classic pair of polkadot tights that I find myself turning to on a weekly basis. Proving that sometimes less can be more, the dainty dots and sheer base are great for transitioning from the office to the bar. If simple isn’t for you, step into high-fashion territory with the Wolford Leonie Tights. Recognisably Wolford, what you get here is a fashion-forward pair of sheers with larger than life polkadots which get gradually smaller as they ascend up the leg. Great for taking your basics out of a style rut! Mixing two patterns in one, my final pick is the Charnos Geo Spot Tights, which have all the credentials of polkadot tights but with a subtle diamond print that sits pretty in the background.

Give that other 80% a chance; patterns are all you need to boost your wardrobe and add a new dimension to the simplest of styles.

Until next time…

Laura’s Choice: Top Trends!

Now the fashion weeks have come to a close and we don’t find ourselves continually refreshing the websites of just about every fashion magazine in existence, we’ve taken some time to consider what the key trends are likely to be for the upcoming months. In typical MyTights style, we’ve gone one step further, not only highlighting the key trends but letting you know how you can recreate them at the drop of a hat. Just call us your very own personal shoppers…

Trend 1: Coloured Opaques

Pamela Mann 50D Tights

Pamela Mann 50D Tights

Coloured opaques were quite simply everywhere, from London to New York and even making a stopover in both Paris and Milan. It seems like the fashion world has gone crazy for coloured tights, and rightly so in our opinion. Capable of updating your look and reigniting your love for that dress you bought 5 years ago and have never worn, why stick to black?

Winner: Pamela Mann 50 Denier Tights

There could only be one winner in this category for us. Forever finding their way on to our bestsellers list, these 50 denier tights come in no less than 20 beautiful colours, from classic shades of black and navy blue through to the delights of daffodil yellow. There really is no better way to make your outfits look good as new, and coming in at just £4.95 a pair, you’d have a hard time arguing against treating yourself to a pair of these.

Runner up: Falke Pure Matt 50D Tights

Coming in at a very close second place, German brand Falke have taken the trend for colour and added a luxury quality in a way that only Falke can. Available in seven colours and boasting a matte finish, they’ll stand the test of time and offer you a fun and colourful style day in, day out.

Trend 2: Fishnets

trasparenze rita

Trasparenze Rita Tights

Fishnets are never far from the top of my hosiery drawer, so I was thrilled to see them enjoying a ‘fashion moment’ on the catwalks. Whether worn on their own or layered over some funky coloured tights, nets are the perfect way to take your wardrobe favourites from drab to fab.

Winner: Trasparenze Rita Fishnet Tights

One of my must have hosiery styles, rarely a week goes by where I don’t pull on a pair of these fishnets. With a slightly larger net than would be considered traditional, they’re brilliant for layering over coloured tights or fashion styles and adding some sophistication to your look without giving too much away. I’m not ashamed to say I own a pair in every colour, and so should you!

Runner up: Jonathan Aston Oxygen Tights

Landing in our offices just a few weeks back, the Jonathan Aston Oxygen Tights are perfect for those of you who like to stay on trend but create an individual look at the same time. Nobody could argue against these tights being net, but the art deco design and quirky look makes them a fashionistas dream.

Trend 3: Spots

Wolford Poppy Tights

Wolford Poppy Tights

We weren’t surprised in the slightest to see spots making their mark on the catwalks, having been the pattern of choice of the A-list for months. Decorating the legs of every single model at Diane von Furstenberg (New York) and Giles (London), dots are the best way to stay on trend while retaining an elegant look. I’ve fallen hook, line and sinker for them!

Winner: Wolford Poppy Tights

Incorporating hundreds of tiny dots but with a whimsical Wolford twist, these 20 denier tights are covered in asymmetrical spots that will send the double takes in your direction. With the spots being denser at the ankle and dispersing as they ascend up the leg, these fashion sheers succeed at being feminine yet funky.

Runner up: Oroblu Adelle Tights

More of a classic polkadot style and one I’ve worn countless times, these 10 denier tights have an all over dotty design that adds a delicate and charming touch to your wardrobe. Understated enough for work and stylish enough for a night out, take your pick between black and navy blue.

Trend 4: Wet Look

Trasparenze Callophrys Leggings

Trasparenze Callophrys Leggings

As much as we’ve admired wet look styles over the years, they’ve never really had their big fashion break, sticking firmly in the wardrobes of the likes of Kate Moss. Until now that is! Even appearing at Saint-Laurent and dressing the legs of Beyonce in recent weeks, a vampy style awaits us all.

Winner: Trasparenze Callophrys Leggings

All the merits of a traditional legging but with a high shine finish to enhance your glamour credentials, the lightweight finish and elastic waistband make them brilliantly comfortable to boot. Great with oversized tees and tunics, bringing out your inner rock chick has never been easier.

Runner up: Pamela Mann Wet Look Leggings

Made in a mock leather fabric, these ultra-shiny leggings are your go-to option for bring a grunge-glam twist to your look. Cut off at the ankle and far more comfortable than the skin-tight fit would suggest, pair them with a longline statement tee and heeled ankle boots.

Who knew being on trend could be this simple?

Taylor Swift: Our Hosiery Hero!

It’s no secret that the MyTights team have gone a little Taylor Swift crazy over the last few months. One look through this blog and you’ll be able to see just how much we adore her; she can’t put a foot wrong! Not only does she continually produce the catchiest of pop songs, she’s also a serious fashionista, in particular through her choice of legwear. Without doubt our biggest hosiery style crush, the best dressed legs in showbiz now come with a price, having been insured for a whopping £26 million pounds this week. To mark the occasion, we take a look back at some of her finest ensembles over the past few years and show you how you can copy her chic looks…

When Swifty did spots

Taylor showing us all how to wear dots!

Taylor showing us all how to wear dots!

Our eyes lit up when we saw these gorgeous spotty sheers from Taylor towards the end of 2014. Stepping out with a friend looking typically fresh and perfectly coiffed, Swift teamed her fashion tights with a pair of purple heels, simple black dress and gorgeous tweed overcoat. It goes without saying that we adored this look, so much so that we’ve been wearing polkadots ever since! Our favourites are the Pamela Mann Sheer Dotty Tights, with their choice of three colours and dainty dot design identical to Taylor’s herself!

Performing hit single Blank Space at the 2015 Brit Awards, the pop sensation teamed a fabulous tailored playsuit with heeled ankle boots and a pair of foxy fishnet tights. A far cry from her usual butter wouldn’t melt look, the classic fishnet design proved Swift can do sexy too! If you adored her look as much as us, the way to recreate it is with the Jonathan Aston Fishnet Tights. A classic pair of fishnets that will stand the test of time, these are the easiest way to add some sass into your wardrobe.

We remember just how excited we were when we spotted Taylor in this adorable outfit last autumn. An electric blue tweed overcoat, mustard dress and gorgeous burgundy opaques – we were floored! Accessorising with a burgundy trilby and matching handbag, Taylor nailed the trend for block colours to a tee. The way to recreate this look? With the Aristoc 80D Opaque Tights! Available in a similar shade of burgundy to Swifty’s herself, these thick opaques are the perfect way to add some colour to your outfit. Follow Taylor’s lead and opt for a bright day dress and vibrant accessories.

Perhaps our favourite Taylor look to date, the 25 year old wowed us all when she stepped out after a shop of retail therapy this winter wearing this divine ensemble! A lace sweater, tartan shorts and fabulous striped sheers, she showed everyone how to work patterned tights. If this has tickled your fashion tastebuds, the way to copy her look is with the Charnos Stripe Mesh Tights. A near carbon copy of Taylor’s look, these are brilliant for updating your classics.

Laura’s Choice: SS15 Fashion Top Picks!

To most other people, the turn of a new season means little more than a slight change in the weather (if we’re lucky!) For the team at MyTights however, with a new season comes an abundance of fabulous new hosiery making its way into our office. Welcome to SS15! With some of our gorgeous new collections already available on the website and plenty more to come in the upcoming weeks, what better way to get you excited for the warmer weather than with my top fashion picks for spring?! Okay, so it might not be toasty enough just yet to pack away our opaques for good, but it’s certainly heading in the right direction. Expect florals, nets and geometric glory – here’s a first look at what we’re all going to be wearing across the next few months…

Jonathan Aston

Jonathan Aston Magma Tights!

Jonathan Aston Magma Tights!

Of all the brands we stock, the new collections from British label Jonathan Aston are always amongst the most anticipated. Always keeping one eye on the catwalk, Jonathan Aston have a real knack for bringing the hottest trends into your hosiery drawer, and more importantly, at an affordable price. Good news – the SS15 range has followed suit! If you’re something of an old romantic, head towards the Jonathan Aston He Loves Me Tights. No need to pick away at the petals anymore, these 15 denier tights are covered in a realistic handwritten scrawl spelling out the famous ‘he loves me, he loves me not’ game. The guaranteed way to get admirers falling at your feet! For something a little more subtle, charm the socks off anyone who crosses your path in the Jonathan Aston Sweet Memory Tights. With their symmetrical floral print, these fashion sheers take sweet style to the next level, proving the perfect addition to your summer dress with their nude base and sandal toe.

From classic florals through to fashion-forward geometrics, I’m a real fan of the Jonathan Aston Magma Tights (that’s me in them on the left!) A far cry from your average sheer, these 15 denier tights are covered in opaque blocks and rectangles, coming together to give any ensemble a striking twist and hand you the fashion limelight. I’ve worn them a handful of times in recent weeks, and each time I’ve been complimented on how great they look, so they come highly recommended. Sticking with the style statement theme, the next new addition I’d like to introduce you to is the Jonathan Aston Crystal Socks. Made in a chic silvery-grey shade, what will immediately strike you about these ribbed fashion socks is the gorgeous satin bow at ankle height. Ideal for adding the je ne sais quoi your summer basics need, they’ll look just fabulous with a skater dress and sweet ballet flats.

Wolford

wolford-josephina-tights

Wolford Josephina Tights

It’s always a joy to bring you the latest releases from high-end Austrian label Wolford. What I love about this brand in particular is that they’re capable of taking a classic style and revamping it in a way that only Wolford can. Almost by magic, their newest additions do just that! Focusing first on the beautiful Wolford Josephina Tights, these fashion sheers look just like an ordinary pair of sheer tights at first glance. Turn to the side however and you’ll reveal a stunning quilted seam running along the outside leg. Not content with just elongating your legs, the quirky seam adds a real decorative touch to your look… unmistakeably Wolford!

If, like us, you’ve been following the recent AW15 fashion weeks, you’ll have noticed the wealth of wet look styles treading the boards of the runway. Appearing this week at the acclaimed Saint-Laurent Paris show, you can mirror the en vogue look with the Wolford Estella Leggings. A real investment piece, these skin-tight leggings are bound to bring out your inner rock chick, not only wowing with their high shine finish, but also coming with an unusual seam at the knee for yet more appeal.

Trasparenze

SPINDASIS_babbuccia

Trasparenze Spindasis Footlet

Not familiar with Trasparenze? Famous for their stand-out pieces as well as their timeless basics, the SS15 collection from the quality Italian label certainly doesn’t disappoint. From fashion socks through to classic leggings, there really is something for each and every one of us to indulge in. One of my personal highlights of the new range is the Trasparenze Fluture Socks. Ankle high sheers scattered with a ‘butter wouldn’t melt’ rose detail, they’re the perfect way to kickstart your summer style and update your old classics. One of the best things about the warmer weather is getting to wear those cute flats you banished to the back of your wardrobe last September again. Anyone who wears ballet pumps and court shoes regularly will know that they are prone to rubbing, which is where the Trasparenze Spindasis Footlets come into their own. With all the qualities of a traditional foot liner, what’s brilliant about these is that they’re actually made from floral net, so as well as protecting your feet from sores, they’re also a fully fledged accessory in their own right!

It’s not only funky styles on offer either – the range also caters for those of you who love a quality basic. Enter the Trasparenze Honeymoon Leggings, with their matte finish, choice of three colours and timeless design. The perfect way to bolster your hosiery capsule, these are the leggings you need to get you through the chillier spring/summer days. Tunics, dresses and longline tees, they really will work with anything! If you love the look of suspender tights but can deal without the hassle, I’d be doing you a disservice if I didn’t point you in the direction of the Trasparenze Pafia Tights. With the leg itself combining fashionable spots and diamonds, at stay up height you’ll find a chic floral band, resembling stockings and coming with a matching panty to create the illusion of sultry suspenders. Who knew THAT much style could be packed into a single pair of tights?

Charnos

Geo-spot-tights-main

Charnos Geo Spot Tights

Last but not least, I’d like to introduce you to the two latest offerings from British brand Charnos. Similar to the Trasparenze Pafia Tights in that they incorporate both diamonds and spots, the Charnos Geo Spot Tights will send your style credentials through the roof. Suitable to be worn both at the office and at the bar, they also come with a boxer brief to protect the most vulnerable area of the tights. From one summer must-have to another, the final product in my list is the Charnos Lacey Stripe Tights. Lace will forever be on-trend, so you can rest assured these 20 denier tights will remain fixture of your look for seasons to come. With floral lace panels descending down the leg in vertical style, these are perfect for giving your party wardrobe that push it needs.

With plenty more new lines planned to be launched onto the website in weeks to come, I suggest you watch this space!

Until next time…

Laura’s Choice: Mother’s Day Gift Guide

Mums – where would we be without them? No matter what we’ve put them through over the years, they’ve always been there. Be it toddler tantrums, our first day at school, picking us up from parties when we’ve had one too many or simply being on hand to offer us a shoulder to cry on, we really have put them through the mill. While we should show them just how much they mean to us on a daily basis, Mother’s Day is that one day a year when they deserve the extra special treatment. But this year, instead of opting for the traditional (and slightly boring) combination of flowers and chocolate, how about treating them to some gorgeous new hosiery? Something they’ll appreciate for seasons to come, we think it makes for the perfect gift. Not sure where to start? The MyTights team have been busily compiling our list of brilliant Mother’s Day presents to suit every need. Just call us your very own gift gurus…

Brrrrrilliant winter warmers

Falke Warm Deluxe Tights

Falke Warm Deluxe Tights

The calendar might state its March, but it sure doesn’t feel like it! While January and February are out of the way, the winter weather is still rearing its ugly head, with forecasters predicting temperatures this month will be well below the average. So why not give your lovely mum’s some snug hosiery to keep them going until spring FINALLY breaks through? The best on the market are without doubt the Falke Warm Deluxe Tights. We were excited about these as soon as we heard through the grapevine that they were being developed last year, and they did anything but disappoint. Taking advantage of the latest soft plush techniques, these 80 denier tights are designed to conserve every last bit of heat… it’s fair to say I was hooked as soon as I pulled them on! Great for giving your legs instant warming relief on those chilly mornings, they also come in 7 colours if your mum fancies herself as a bit of a fashionista.

If you like the idea of treating her to some cosiness but your budget doesn’t quite stretch to these, a fantastic alternative are the Pretty Polly 200D Fleecy Opaque Thermal Tights. Mega thick opaque tights with a top secret brushed fleece lining, the best thing about these is that they’re packed full of thermal qualities while appearing just a standard pair of thick opaques. And at just £9.95 a pair, you’ll have some spare pennies to treat her to a Mother’s Day meal! Control top tights are an excellent way to get your mum feeling her best and give her an extra dose of body confidence. Part of the bestselling Bodytoners range, the Aristoc Bodytoners Opaque Toner Tights appear just like a standard pair of 60 denier tights, albeit with a velvety soft finish that moisturises your legs during wear. Working on the most common problem zones, her social life is bound to go through the roof now she has these in her repertoire!

Super socks!

As the old saying goes, you can never have enough socks! In the past, it may have been the case that your mums might bemoan receiving a pair of socks as a gift… but she obviously hadn’t seen the selection at MyTights.com! Aside from their obvious practical uses, socks are the perfect way to add that last splash of style to your look. Brand new for SS15, the Trasparenze Fluture Socks are bound to be right up her street. Sheer ankle socks scattered with a dainty rose print, she’ll love how these transform her basic dresses and skirts, and even better, they won’t break your bank either.

Jonathan Aston Perfect Pellerine Socks

Jonathan Aston Perfect Pellerine Socks

If she’s never seen without a bit of sparkle, treat her to the Jonathan Aston Perfect Pellerine Socks. Made in an attractive pellerine design and in two colours, these fashion socks have a chic metallic thread running throughout… much more than just a standard pair of socks! With spring on the horizon, it won’t be too long before your mum starts to give her ballet pumps and court shoes an outing, which is why the timing of the Trasparenze Spindasis Footlets couldn’t have been better. Another new addition, these foot liners have all the basic properties of a reliable footlet, the only difference being this particular pair have enough style to be an outfit accessory in their own right. How, you might ask? Well they happen to be made with a sumptuous floral net that will decorate your feet to perfection.

From the summery to the cosy, no list of Mother’s Day gifts would be complete without the Falke Cuddle Pads. Arriving on your doorstep in its attractive gift box, these slipper socks are as cuddly as the name would suggest, being made from a wool and cotton blend and coming with an anti-slip sole to make them wooden floor proof!

One eye on the summer?

Wolford Neon 40 Tights

Wolford Neon 40 Tights

Okay, so it might be a little too cold at the moment to envisage packing away our opaques for another year, but there’s nothing wrong with looking ahead to the summer. Make sure your mum is fully prepared to nail a summery style with the Aristoc Ultimate 5D Sheer Tights. The closest thing to a bare leg look without bare legs themselves, Aristoc have utilised LYCRA® Fusion technology to ensure all the appeal of a natural look and the robustness of a thicker denier weight! In fact, these are so effective, you might just have a hard time convincing your friends that you’re wearing tights at all!

We often get requests around this time of year from women who are looking for tights that give their legs some coverage, but without the bulk or appearance of opaques. Ideal for covering up uneven skin tone or unsightly veins, the Wolford Neon 40 Tights are a real life hosiery hero. What’s special about these is that, despite their 40 denier construction, they actually have the appearance of 20 denier sheers. Providing your legs with a natural glow and covering up all your imperfections, they really do make for an amazing gift, regardless of whether you opt for classic black or one of the other 8 colours on offer.

Does your mum pride herself on her style choices? If the answer is yes, it goes without saying that she’ll want to keep up with the latest trends. You’d have to have been living under a rock to not have noticed the abundance of spots making their mark on the fashion world in recent months, so popular that they were the star of the show at Diane von Furstenberg’s latest New York Fashion Week collection. For a great pair, head to Pamela Mann and the Pamela Mann Sheer Dotty Tights, with their classic 20 denier leg and sweet spot print running throughout.

So, there we have it. Putting a smile on her face this year couldn’t be easier!

Until next time…

LONDON FASHION WEEK: THE HOSIERY HIGHLIGHTS!

If you’ve been wondering why you haven’t seen the fashion in-crowd much in the press of late, that’s because they’ve all been locked away in Somerset House, admiring the new designer collections for AW15! Don’t worry if you haven’t had time to catch up on the new styles emerging from London Fashion Week, the MyTights team are here to fill in all the blanks and round up our favourite hosiery looks for the upcoming season! And what a great week it was – we were thrilled to see just how much legwear made the cut. Here’s our round-up of the best styles that you’ll be wearing come the autumn…

 Spots

Spotty sheers at GILES

Spotty sheers at GILES

Oroblu Adelle Tights

Oroblu Adelle Tights

While there was an abundance of tights and socks on the catwalk, we’ve narrowed it down to four main trends which stood out, the first of which was spots! It doesn’t take a genius to work out that spots are set to be huge in the coming months, not only appearing at the Diane Von Furstenberg show at New York last week but also being a consistent part of Giles Deacon AW15 collection.

Every single one of his models paired their gothic ensembles with black spotty sheers, a look that we loved! While this monochrome ensemble may be a bit OTT for a trip to the shops, we’ll certainly be copying the tights. How? With the Oroblu Adelle Tights of course, which are identical to the tights worn by the GILES models.

For something a little different, head for the Wolford Poppy Tights – all the appeal of spots but with an asymmetrical design for a quirky twist.

Colour

Time to banish your black opaques to the back of the drawer, ladies! Colour is set to reign in AW15, appearing at the shows of Preen, Costelloe and Daks to name but a few. Our favourite look stemmed from Costelloe, in particularly the gorgeous berry opaques as seen on the right. Paired with a red velvet coat with a skater style bottom, the great thing about shades like this is that they’re not too loud, meaning they can be worn well…just about anywhere! Burgundys, forest greens and deep violets were the biggest trends we spotted, which is brilliant, as we have the perfect way to recreate the look with the Pamela Mann 50 Denier Tights! Available in no less than 20 colours, these 50 denier opaques are a) affordable, b) versatile and c) fabulously on-trend! If something a little more luxurious is up your street, another option are the Falke Pure Matt 100 Tights, which come in eight colours and benefit from a multitude of quality features, not to mention a super soft finish.

Socks

London Fashion Week was something of a sock frenzy – no arguments from us! From colourful ankle socks to black knee highs, socks featured just about everywhere, adding a cute and preppy touch to the looks and offering some warmth at the same time. For us, the best looks were seen at Jones and Daks, particularly the mustard yellow socks as seen on the left. Coming from much-loved designer duo Teatum Jones, the vibrant socks worked perfectly with the kooky patterned dress and fringed shoes. Okay, so we don’t think we’d opt for this much colour and pattern at once, but we’ll definitely be pulling out our colourful socks! Great with denim shorts and day dresses, you’ll be the height of fashion in the Trasparenze Monique Ankle Socks. Whether you opt for the Giallo shade a la Jones or any of the other 12 hues, these are the inexpensive way to nail the hot ankle socks trend.

Wet look

There’s nothing like a high shine finish to inject some rock chick glamour in to your look! Which was exactly the thoughts of Huisghan Zhang, it would seem, who included an array of gorgeous wet look tights into her designs. Keeping it classic in black, her models teamed their glossy legwear with printed dresses and heeled sandals for a look that was brimming with allure. We hear you, it might not be suitable for everyday life, but there’s nothing stopping you opting for some wet look hosiery for a glamorous evening look. To master the trend, the new Wolford Estella Leggings are perfect, even coming with a quirky seam at the knee for yet more fashion points. For something more budget-friendly, the Trasparenze Callophrys Leggings may be just the thing…

Hot Spots: New ways to work the spots trend…

Everyone has gone spot crazy this season, thanks to the Marc Jacobs and Stella McCartney AW 11 catwalks, so we’ve spent all season with our eyes peeled for all the latest spotty designs.  We’ve seen the classic polka dot design on everything from bags to shoes to dogs (ok, so we were watching 101 Dalmations) and everything in between.  Then we began to notice a new sub-trend forming, full of quirky and exciting new ways to wear spotted hosiery, and realised that this is a great way to sport a trend without looking like everyone else out there.  Here are our favourite new ways to work the spotty trend…

Oversized

Both Fearne Cotton and Cheryl Cole have been spotted in spots – dress them down à la Fearne by pairing Pamela Mann’s Oversized spot tights with denim cut offs and a cosy scarf, or get the Cheryl Cole Spotty Tights from Wolford and team with a monochrome outfit for a sophisticated take on big spots.

Embellished

Embellished tights are a great way to add a touch of glamour to plainer outfits.  Look Magazine recommends teaming Henry Holland Pearly Suspender Tights (see below left) with bright accessories on a night out for maximum wow factor!  Alternatively, try the Brigitte Tights from Charnos’ 75th Anniversary Collection, featuring Swarovski crystals mingling with polka dots – incredibly luxurious style that will look great for any occasion!

Colourful

Try adding a pop of colour to the style to get an eye catching design perfect for parties!  Try the Oroblu Milly Hold Ups (pictured above right) for a fun and quirky way to work a splash of colour, which are available with red, camel, white or teal spots – or for a pared down take on the trend, grab a pair of the Mary Portas & Charnos Sheer Spot Tights in Indigo.

P.S. Don’t worry if you still like the classic style – Look Magazine reckons you can work that look to perfection too.  Simply mix with other sheers for a super luxe feel and a look perfect for the office.

Cheryl Cole Goes Dotty!

Cheryl Cole is our kind of woman.  Following a rough ride over the last year, she’s back… looking better than ever!  With newly blonde locks and showing off her amazing legs in Wolford Bonny Dots Tights, you would never guess the terrible time she has had.

Made from 20 denier sheer hosiery and with opaque polka dots, you can get these Cheryl Cole Tights today from MyTights.  Not just similar tights – the EXACT ones she’s wearing.  Not only are spots the hottest print around this season, it never really goes out of fashion – and tights from a luxury brand like Wolford means they will last through the seasons!

We recommend following Cheryl’s lead and teaming these tights with a stark monochrome look to really enhance the pattern and to keep the look high end and sophisticated.  Try the tuxedo look by teaming a white shirt in luxe fabrics like silks and chiffons with hotpants (gulp!) or a slightly more forgiving pencil skirt if you are curve-conscious.  Or for a girlier take on the look, try short dresses with peter pan collars, and finish the look with leather or suede accessories like box clutches and loafers.

Cheryl is already a confirmed fan of Wolford tights.   When she wore Bondage Tights on the X Factor, everyone went crazy for them and they became a nationwide sellout, with those who missed out having to settle for copies. So we recommend you grab a pair while you still can!

Fans of Cheryl’s look can also check out a range of tights inspired by Cheryl’s style in our selection of Cheryl Cole Tights.

There’s no doubt about it – Cheryl is a style queen.  Get the look today with these Wolford beauties from MyTights – while you still can!
