Bye Bye, Mr. Blue Skies…

g” alt=”" width=”400″ height=”540″ />Nothing makes me want to don colour pop brights like the cold weather, and now Mr. Blue Skies seems to have bid us farewell, I’ve been frantically digging through my wardrobe in search of something to bring a little sunshine into my wardrobe.  Thankfully, you add colourful flashes to your look and tick off your trend list as colour blocking is a key look this season.  Here are our top 5 coloured tights and how to wear them:

1)      Henry Holland Houndstooth Tights in Pink: Try pink on pink with a pink dress – we thought this would be too much but our founder Laura rocked this look the other day and looked amazing!  Henry Holland tights call for bold styling and the pattern breaks up the colour to make it pretty wearable (or as wearable as all-over pink ever gets, anyway).

2)      Yellow Tights: Neon, mustard, buttercup – whatever shade you go for, yellow tights are pure sunshine in a pack.  Ideal for grey days when your spirits need lifting, wear them with shades of purple for pallet perfection.

3)      Mary Portas & Charnos Stripe Opaque Tights in Sultry Sage: This medium to dark green with black pinstripes design is colour blocking for shrinking violets: subtle, chic and sophisticated.  These will go with pretty much anything – try teaming them with

your workwear to get heads turning at the office.

4)      Pretty Polly 60 Denier Plush Tights: These gorgeous opaques from Pretty Polly come in 7 different shades – one for each day of the week!  We especially love the Denim shade, but whatever colour you’re in the mood for, they’re all finished with cashmere protein for extra softness.

5)      Blue Tights: Another way to banish the blues, shades of aqua are super fresh and tie in with this season’s underwater trend.  The Trasparenze Valentina Hold Ups in Azzuro are bundles of fun to wear, or try the Pamela Mann Lurex Micronet Tights in Blue/Silver, which will tick off two trends in one as metallic are also key this autumn.

Your Autumn Colour Palette

In typical British fashion, the Indian summer is due to arrive any minute now just as we’ve packed away our bikinis and
taken out our coats.  But the shops are full of gorgeous Autumn buys, and we recommend you start shopping for the colder weather now – all the savvy fashionistas are doing it.  Leave it too late and all you’ll be left with are bargain bin buys.

So what to buy for this Autumn?  Well, military style is back in yet again, and so green tights like the Falke Seidenglatt 70 Tights in Military will add a utility feel to your look AND keep you toasty warm.  These tights are super luxe and feel as gorgeous as they look!  Style them with a multi-pocketed shirt dress for the office or parka coat for a laid back weekend look.

Yellow tights will also be key for a second season – neon is in again, which means you can go as bright as you like with this shade (top tip – bright yellow looks really fresh when paired with colour-of-the-season purple).  However, as we’re palette purists (or colour cowards), we prefer the eminently more wearable mustard shade – perfect for autumn.  Try the

Pamela Mann 50 Denier Tights in Mustard, which will look great peeking out from under a navy or grey cape.

As autumn merges into winter, white tights help to create a frosty feel perfect for crisp, cool winter days.  White Falke tights were in last month’s issue of Vogue, teamed with a cobalt blue dress and icy grey trench.  When wearing white tights, keep the rest of your outfit

neutral – pure white looks good with cool colours like grey, pale blue and lilac, or you can team cream or ivory tights with warmer colours like beige, taupe and camel.Start shopping your coloured tights for your autumn wardrobe now and in a couple of weeks, when there’s a nip in the air and the sun seems like a distant memory, you’ll be ahead of the game in the best that cosy autumn fashion has to offer.

Don't Fall into a Fashion Rut…

It can be so tempting to stick to black tights day in, day out, but if you don’t change your buy zithromax hosiery from time to time you’ll be in severe danger of falling into a fashion rut.  Plain coloured tights are the easiest way to perk up your hosiery drawer, but with an entire rainbow of colour to choose from, it can be hard to know where to start.  Allow us to help you – we’ve broken it down so you can figure out exactly how to wear coloured hosiery, no matter where you’re headed…

The Office

You need something that blends in with your rest of your outfit for the office, but although you don’t want to stand out too much you can still add a hint of colour – just make sure you stick to darker, neutral shades.  Brown Tights work really well with a classic camel shift dress, or you could team navy tights with grey city shorts and a crisp white shirt.  Darker colours like these are also great if you’re self-conscious about your figure as they have a slimming effect – our top tip is to wear sheers if you’re wearing a pencil skirt, which will stop your calves from looking too bulky, but opaques if your hemline is high for a bit more coverage.

eet up with friends.  We think yellow tights give a cheery, summery look, even when the weather is miserable.  Paloma Faith was spotted just last week in bright yellow tights, which she teamed with a cobalt blue blouse and shoes and a red scarf print skirt (you can stick to navy blue if you’re a little more reserved!)  Or if that’s just too bold, go for blue tights and work this season’s underwater trend – as seen on the Chanel catwalk – with a grey dress and metallic silver accessories.

Dinner Date

Making your coloured tights work for a hot date is incredibly easy – nothing screams sexy like a vibrant pair of red tightsGo for dark shades of scarlet or ruby, and match to your lips and nails for a vampish look that will turn his head.  This is the cheaper way to get a hot new look, too, as you can give your favourite Little Black Dress a new lease of life for next to nothing (which also means you can afford those new shoes you’ve had your eye on!)

Tights can be your wardrobe’s new best friend – simply pick a pair and perk up all those old outfits you never thought you’d wear again.  Whether you’re a novice looking to dip your toe into the coloured hosiery trend or a colour aficionado looking for your next hit, with a whole rainbow of colours to choose from you can’t go wrong!
