Hands up who’s bored of hibernation now? We can smell the sun in the air and see the light at the end of tunnel now, as we wave goodbye to blustery winter and open the front door to glorious spring! Things are notably happier during Spring. We’ve noticed the commute is full of less grumbles, and we actually don’t mind that walk to the train station now. With happier people comes happier wardrobes – and a need for new hosiery!

For those who need a little inspiration to kick start the wardrobe overhaul, look no further than these gorgeous illustrations from Garage magazine. Inspired by the impossibly beautiful Russian Dolls, floral patterns have been clashed, adding rich reds and bold whites to balance the look. Perhaps a little too much for the pattern-phobic amongst us, take your cue from the leg wear alone.

Adding spring cheer instantly to any outfit, white is the perfect shade to add to your colour palette this season. Big on the catwalks, we predict that the purer than pure colour will be a hit on the high streets too! To get involved, make like Garage magazine and get your hands on a pair of the Jonathan Aston Sweet Roses Tights in Ivory. For Russian Doll kudos, style your lace tights underneath a sweet skater skirt, adding splashes of post box red throughout your accessories (when it comes to jewellery – the more, the better!) and footwear. The textured lace design will add interest whilst the bold white shade creates a striking leg silhouette.

If white isn’t really your cup of tea, turn the colour wheel upside down and focus your hosiery intentions on all things red. With this trend, shades need to be rich and intense, so we adore the Pamela Mann 80 Denier Tights, in the Flo Red. A far cry from the blacks and greys of Winter, coloured tights made an appearance on the recent LFW catwalks, meaning that the trend is here to

stay. Team with clashing florals and heels for a fashion forward ensemble, adding a hint of white to keep that Russian Doll inspiration going strong. If you’re after a more subtle daytime style, wear your red tights with a plain shift dress, adding ankle boots and a statement necklace.
