Everyone, apparently! At the weekend the BAFTAs took place, with some of our favourite leading ladies including Olivia Coleman and Sheridan Smith winning prizes. As is the case with almost any major celeb event, Spanx UK was hard at work, providing some of our best loved and glamorous stars with shaping support (including the boys!)
As well as gracing the curves of Sheridan and Olivia, red carpet regulars Holly Willoughby and Tess Daly were relying on the shapewear – and both women mentioned Spanx in their red carpet interview, too. They were joined by a whole host of other famous faces including red carpet presenter Jenni Falconer and Queen-of-the-Olympics Claire Balding. And the ladies weren’t alone – star of the BBC’s Great British Bake Off Paul Hollywood and Chatty Man Alan Car were two of the guys also wearing Spanx for Men. We call that a victory for gender equality !
Away from the BAFTAs, Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden opened up about how much she loves Spanx in an interview with the Daily Mail, saying last week: ‘‘I don’t care that my tummy is hanging over my trousers. I know I can always put a pair of Spanx on. It is a healthy paunch.” A woman after our own hearts…
It’s not just our Brit girls and boys, either. Spanx shapewear made an appearance on the other side of the Atlantic last week with actress Kirsten Dunst bringing pictured on the set of Anchorman 2 in a fluffy pink dressing gown, neon trainers and nude Spanx. Not a look we’re guessing she’ll be keen to debut in public any time soon, but reassuring to mere mortals nonetheless.
It seems as though the Spanx name is everywhere at the moment, helped along this week by founder Sara Blakely’s announcement that she is to join the Giving Pledge founded by Bill Gates and Warren Beaty, where wealthy individuals and families pledge to give away part of their wealth in the name of good causes. The 41 year old billionaire said of her promise:
“Since I was a little girl I have always known I would help women. I never lose sight that I was born in the right country at the right time. And I never lose sight of the fact that there are millions of women around the world who are not dealt with the same deck of cards upon their birth.”
So now you know that when you’re buying Spanx, you’re not only getting star style as demonstrated by pretty much every celeb out there, you’re also helping those in need – what’s not to love about shapewear that makes you look AND feel great?
