We’re back to give you more advice on your winter wardrobe and today we’re tackling The Great Outdoors and Mad Men Women! Once again, these two trends are extremely different to each other, giving you a brilliant variation for your wardrobe this season.
The Great Outdoors:
If you’re a fan of the Country Manor style then get yourself equipped with countryside colours and heritage fabrics. You’ll want to get kitted out in tweeds, corduroy, plaid, shearling and mohair. DKNY, Paul Smith, Topshop Unique, Missoni, Rag and Bone and Rodarte should be your first stop for inspiration. The best way to wear hosiery with this autumnal trend is styling blazers with leather elbow patches and shorts or a skirt with thick tights in creams/whites and browns, thick thigh high wool socks, black opaque tights for a smarter look for the office, ribbed tights and greys. Combine your thick hosiery with booties and ankle boots and wear socks high for smarter office look.
Mad Men Women:
Mad Men fever has reached the Fashion World and it’s this season’s most feminine and hottest trend. First things first, invest in some body shaping underwear such as Spanx! Get yourself a good quality all in one or high-waisted control brief and it will get you one step closer to the ‘All Woman’ style. Wear dresses and skirts that nip in at the waist and are mid-calf length. Take inspiration from Prada, Louis Vuitton, Loewe and Louisa Beccania who all featured full skirts and dresses. At Prada they teamed their full skirt dresses with over the knee thick wool socks, updating the 1960s glamour to high fashion but maintained elegance by wearing t-bar sandals. Botegga Veneta opted for black fishnet tights with its elegant dresses. Loewe focused on 1960s glamour and pin-up by adding sheer black tights with black dots and delicate Mary-Janes. Louisa Beccarina came up with something different, mauve/lilac ribbed sheer tights – sounds odd but the vertical ribbed design actually offsets the potential ‘frumpiness’ of the full skirt. Finish your look with simple pointed court shoes or t-bar sandals.
